Hello all. I’m new to site, just registered today. I haVe a 2012 900 xp4 rzr. It was rolled recently and the passenger side tie rod was bent. How do I remove it without taking out the steering box or is it even possible… please help I’m driving myself crazy…
Alright guys iv about had it with my 900, I purchased the unit new from
The deal.. Put about 30 hours on it and took it back to dealer to get the Polaris performance stage 2 kit installed.. Got the bike back and about 2 weeks later the seal on crankshaft started leaking oil and causing my belts to slip.. Took it back to dealer to get fixed and no I didn’t have warranty, picked the unit back up and rode for maybe 10-15 miles and was going about 40 mph down a black top rode and boom my primary clutch went into pieces after I just spent a grand having that seal replace I was furious however dealer claimed the belt caused it, had to pay another chunk of cash for clutch and belt, about 50-100 miles after that the brand knew belt broke.. Put a new one it and 50-100 miles my clutch explodes again!!!!! I was in low and gased it a little bit and boom! I don’t know what to do anymore, could that freakin kit be causing all this chaos cause I don’t have warrant however Polaris warrantys that performance kit any help would much appreciated
Any of you 570 folks having the rubber straps that keep the storage box lid down come loose while riding. Mine will not stay latched and pop loose every bump I hit! I cannot figure a way to adjust or repair this problem as the straps are pop riveted on with no adjustment possible. Yesterday I had to bungee cord it down to keep it shut. Not the fix I want on a $7500.00 dollar quad. Thanks for any help on this as it is very frustrating.:nixweiss:
I wondered why Polaris would specify running the engine and then shutting it off and checking the oil level after about 15 seconds. That is what is in my 2014 XP owners manual and shop manual. I thought it didn’t matter if you checked it after it sat awhile or according to the manual. I just did an experiment. It has been sitting a couple of days and I checked the oil level without starting. The stick indicated just right on the full mark. I ran it a couple of minutes and then shut if off and checked the oil level right at 15 seconds. The stick indicated just right on the add mark. I think the cause is a lot of the oil is pumped up into the engine and takes awhile to drain back. IMO that’s not a good situation since most people don’t read the manual and just check the engine oil before a ride without running the engine first. I apologize for the picture quality. My camera didn’t want to focus… First picture is before running the engine and second is after running the engine and checking at 15 seconds. BTY that engine has about 150 hours on it and about 40 hours since the last oil change. Doesn’t use any oil and runs perfect.
So here’s what I have going on. I just installed lift kit and bushings on my father’s 2012 sportsman…while doing so rear axle pulled out at inner cv joint…took boot off and the clip that holds the shaft in was not where it was supposed to be. Ended up just replacing whole inner joint after using slide hammer to get old cup out. So I got that all together and my brother in law who has same model and year said he needed new bushings. Went over there today to check it out and both rear side clips must have fallen out before I started or while I was working on it. Is this a common issue with the sportsman? I put the joints back together and replaces the clip and now I’m trying to get boot clamps back on while axle is in machine…not fun. Just wondering if anyone else has had this issue or if I’m doing something wrong. Sorry for the long post.
