I just installed a new set of can am rear cv boot guards on my new XMR the aluminum ones with the plastic inner portion, anyways I popped a boot ten minutes later:th_smiliepissed: I did install them properly, I’m assuming a rock or something got stuck or rubbed between the guard and boot. Having that said I’m considering taking them off now as the goal was to save me money not cost me more in the first ten minutes. Do you think I should leave them on Or take them off? Anyone else have problems with them? Thanks in advance!
2 questions about a 1997 xpress 400 2×4 with a rebuilt 250 motor
1st-Brake lever feels a little spongy. Takes awhile for ATV to come to a stop. I replaced the pads. The old ones were actually in pieces. I installed new wheel bearings. I bleed an entire bottle through lines. The rear/foot brake pedal and rotor are missing. Pads and caliper are there but don’t move… Only have front brakes. Is this normal since I only have front brakes? Every now and then I can hear a squishing/air sound from master cylinder. I don’t see air bubbles in reservoir though. Rotors are a little rough on one side of both rotors…
2nd-Loud whining sound when moving. Doesn’t do it with rear end on blocks only when front is in motion. Tires are bald. New ones ordered. Belt had a small worn area. Replaced with an old belt I had that was in better shape, small cracks between ridges is all (dry rot a little).
Hey everyone, thought I’d introduce my self. My name is kue and I was born and raised in central Alberta. I just purchased my second CAN AM XMR only this one is a 2015 1000 in digital camo! I’m always looking for more good people to ride with!!:th_smiliewavey:
Ive knoticed that the engine runs a lil weird when it cold/hasnt started in a week or so. When i first fire it up and give it gas the engine dosent respond to throttle very well. My suzuki vinson would do the same thing. Once its been idoling for a minuit or so its fine. I washed the bike last sunday after riding. I fired it up and gave it a few blips of throttle in nuetral and it was doing the same thing. So i throttled it up till the point where the engine didnt respond to more throttle n held it there for about a second, then it made a weird pop noise and reved up and didnt do it again after that. What is the reason for this. My vinson was carb with jetting and other work done so i could understand y it was cold natured but this fuel injected bike shouldnt do. Keep in mind im in florida. Ambiant temp was about 84 on sunday
I keep seeing people dong their own exhausts using a magnaflow muffler, they fit good and sound good, but just going off videos they seem like they would be loud enough to get annoying over time…
so poking around online I came across a similar dimension muffler that isn’t just straight through, I want more grumble, but still gotta be able to hear the stereo. ha
the muffler im thinkin about is a flo pro 4415XX
they are dirt cheap, seem like would be a bit quieter than the magnaflow and have no fiberglass packing to burn out..
anyone with any experience have any input? good idea? bad idea? waste of time?
I started to notice a really annoying aluminum rattle after driving through a swamp so I finally took off the seat and side panel and had a look. I discovered the bottom mount for the heat shield broke and I’m thinking it was thermal shock anyway I just put a washer under the existing washer and tightened the bolt and the problem is fixed.
This is my first Grizzly. First thing is when I start it, it will start and then almost always die after a couple seconds. It’ll start right back up but just curious if that’s normal.
Second thing when I hit the throttle pretty hard from a stop it sounds likes its gonna die and bogs down for a second before accelerating. Any ideas?
