High altitude settings

Hi, 1st post,
I actually own a 2015 Grizzly 700 but this question is relative to a 06 660 (Carb model)
Last year we went to Colorado on a ATV vacation (I actually took my 14 Kawasaki Teryx which is fuel injection so no worries there.
While we were there, we saw at least 6 bikes with major carb issues (at least 12,000 ft)
We going back in July and my friend taking the 06 660.

My questions would be, what setting should I put the air screw at and what main jet should I go with, everything is stock right now and we live in Louisiana.
We will be on average 9500 thru 13,000 ft above sea level.

Thanks in advance guys, been reading the forum a while and decided to post….
Phil.

2014 grizzly 450 belt problem

I have a belt problem every time I get into any any water my belt starts slipping most of the time I stall out and have to pull the the drain plug and then when water drains I can go again. Is there anything I can do to stop the belt from getting wet. I literally can’t ride through any water. Gets old having to stop and pull plug or get stranded

hard starting in the cold

i have a 2002,660 grizzly
The bike simply does not like the cold.you choke it and crank it till the battery dies and won’t start, but if you are lucky to get it started it takes a good 10-15 minutes to warm up enough to take the choke off. I put an after market carb on a year ago, didn’t help took it to a atv mechanic he played with the carb changed the jets and put stalk jets in out of original carb.Didnt make much difference he also set the valves said they were a bit tight.I changed the plug a couple of times,it has fresh new gas.not sure where to go from here.anyone have some advice

Temp Light coming on

So…I’m out yesterday with the crew. 0c, 12in snow, breaking trail pulling a fairly step hill, low range 4×4, working it pretty good. When I stop and turn around I notice my temp light on, coolant fan is on sounds strong, coolant is full, not boiling over, doesn’t miss a beat running fine. Does anyone know if these temp sensors have bad calibration from factory? or? I haven’t checked valve adjustment for awhile…any info would be much appreciated.

Help with 2016 Grizzly eps winch contactor placement

Picked up a 2016 Grizzly, have yet to ride it. Wanted to get the winch hooked up first. I need some help on where to locate the contactor though. I bought the Warn Pro vantage 2500 kit and plate from Rocky Mountain Atv. The plate doesnt seem to have a mounting spot like some that ive read about. Also sounds like a dryer spot is better any how? So those of you that do have a 2016, where should this be mounted? Thanks and Sorry if this is in the wrong forum. First post, just want to get this on and ride it. Thank you

Reverse rev limiter

Hey guys I’m new to the forum I’m not to sure where to post this but I’m having some issues with a 2006 grizzly 660, it has a fresh carb rebuild and it cranks up like a charm but when its idling in neutral and I mash the gas a little it revs up fine then when I mash it down harder and it gets to high in the rpms it starts bogging down and back popping the reverse light is flashing. The four wheeler is not only doin this in neutral and reverse (like its suppose to) its doing it when I’m going forward as well. I read on thus forum that it may be my reverse rev limiter sensor going bad and I read ab the mod to ground the green and white striped wire to ovveride the rev limiter and I have did as described for the mod my problem now is that its still doing the exact same thing as before and the reverse light is still flashin as before the wire was groynded . I know i spliced into the right wire its the wire that goes down to the spark plug looking thing under the air box .Thanks in advance to all help I am very lost about this.

Fuel additive

Any riders out there have any suggestions on a fuel additive ?? I have an occasional bogging issue here n there. Before I take apart the carb, Id like to try something a little easier…a fellow rider suggested using 93 instead of 87 octane…. maybe its just a little dirt or buildup in the carb …. Whats safe for my 450 motor ?? seafoam ? additive ?
