Gates new primary…..

Anybody hear any feedback on it? I ask because I just read something over on that other Can Am "talk" forum about it making 6 RWHP more than the REV X and 7.5 RWHP more than the Rage 3P. I just thought I’d leave this here for discussion. I don’t necessarily believe it as it was from one person who claims he witnessed it, but you never know.

Renegade troubles

Hello, my dad has a 2007 Renegade 800. Last week he had it idling and noticed that the rpms picked up. He looked at the display and it was idling around 14-1500 and lo battery, limp home and the check engine light was on. He shut it off and restarted it. It ran for about a second and shut off. Due to it having 5000+ miles on the original cam chains, we assumed that they stretched enough that it came out of time. We installed new chains and guides and attempted to start it. It wouldn’t start and we found out that the fuse, F1, that controls the ignition coils was blown. Put a new fuse and it started but was running rough and the same messages and lights came on as the first time and it again popped the fuse. Now if you even turn the key on it pops the fuse. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

More Power?

Well today was almost like a second Christmas, new NPP supernasty slip on and BOM supermag cams showed up.

I was gonna sell my machine this year and start a new build but decided to keep it, so doing a few upgrades to keep me interested. All of the mods I’m doing are with HP in mind as the goal. Had a Muzzy slip on before this one, but it was toast after a couple years of riding so went with the NPP this time as its been proven to show good HP and I love the look, and I must say after installing it today the sound is incredible, definitely not for everyone but I do like it a lot and the quality is second to none, all hand crafted with immaculate welds and craftsmanship, very impressed with the build quality. As for the cams, it was a harder decision. I’m running Bom mag plus cams now and like them a lot, great throttle response and seat of the pants torque, but I decided to try the super mags to squeeze out a few more HP, everyone raves about these cams too so I’m gonna give em a shot. I am going to have to clutch to a little higher shiftout but thats not something Im worried about at all. I’m also waiting on a Monster MPT and a 51mm throttle body. The new TB should add some needed air and throttle response and the MPT will allow me to raise the rev limit a touch, remove all of the limiters and tune everything in nicely. I’ll update the thread as parts arrive and I get them installed.

Commander dps question

Replaced the coupler part number 709401138 with the 2014 part number 709401328. Unplugged the 3 plug ins dropped the rack and took out dps. Pressed off old coupler put all back together. Put dielectric grease on all plug ins. Fired it up and no power steering. Check dps on screen and engine light on. Had dealer scan came up codes PO562- system voltage low and
U3001 Module improper shutdown. Battery is fully charged and still nothing. Any ideas?

Fan problem

I went to WindRock yesterday to ride. After multiple mud holes and creek crossings, I noticed the fan was constantly clicking on and off. It thawed out in my garage last night. When I started it today, the fan immediately came on and stayed on. I pulled the fuse from the Hayden controller and it went off. I rode it around and the fan performed as it should from the factory.
Any ideas? I’m assuming the controller is bad?
