Hey Guys, I am new to the forum, but a decently experienced ATV/mechanical guy. Started in High School rebuilding Honda 3 wheelers for extra cash. Went to college got my mechanical engineering degree; designed and built some mini Baja cars for the SAE mini Baja competition while at school. Now I buy, fix, and sell 4 wheelers as a hobby. It’s a great way to get to drive all different wheelers. I don’t get attached to much and everything is for sale.
So here is my story.
Bought a 2002 Grizzly 660 for $800. Was smoking badly (blue) and has 1500 HRS and 3000 miles. It was used on a small horse ranch to pull a manure spreader since new. Ran pretty decent when I bought it. Just figured one of the valve seals let loose.
Brought it home and tore it down. Lapped the valves, new rings, new valve seals, new gaskets, honed the cylinder, replaced the cam chain. The cam and rockers were decently worn, but I have put together many engines with worse. Put everything back together and runs like crap. Will idle fine but won’t take throttle and is smoking blue after it warms up. Figure the smoke just some oil left in the exhaust from the previous failure. Frustrated out it back in the garage and left it for a week. Came backnout to work on it and it will barely run at all and is smoking very badly white/black. Not sweet smell just straight gas. Pulled the carb and noticed the intake was full of gas. Float was misadjusted and pouring gas in the engine. Checked the oil and full of gas…. Ordered a new carb, changed the oil and filter twice. All traces of gas in the oil gone. Installed the new carb and still running very rich so rich it is smoking. Pulled the spark arrestor thinking it maybe plugged and it is sooty but I can see through it. Ran it without the arrestor and no change. Still doesn’t take throttle well. Sometimes!e I can get it to hook up. After I get it to rev and puke out the excess fuel, the smoke goes away for awhile however after idling for about 30 seconds it comes back. Seems to be super rich gray/white smoke smells like gas. Not blue, not super white or sweet smelling so don’t thinknit is leaking coolant. At this point I am at a loss. Thinking my issue is somewhere in the valve train but not sure. Lifting it up to the experts for help and some opinions
Hi Guys so I have another thread going right now regarding my 2002 400EX carb cleaning and disassembly etc.. etc.. etc.. and right now i was asking about a ballpark jetting setup for my quad so i can put the order in for my jets. Here’s the thing though I want and will pretty much only settle for Keihin jets. i don’t want Dyno Pro-x FMF or any of that other aftermarket B.S. jets in there.. I want Genuine Keihin Jets!! so with that said it seems like the only options i have found so far are ordering them through motosport which is a huge rip off because you’re paying $21 for 4 jets of the same size (who needs 4 of the same sized jets!?!?) the other option i just discovered and heard about tonight is ordering through this website called Jets R Us. According to their website they will sell me GENUINE Keihin jets individually which is exactly what i want because then i will only be purchasing and paying for the Jets that I need, not a bunch of unnecessary extra jets to pay for. Has anyone heard of or bought things from/done business with Jets R Us? do they seem like a high quality outfit? just wondering because this almost seems to good to be true haha:)

Can anyone recommend a nice full exhaust system for the 2015? I’ve seen some nice looking ones on some of the Instagram pictures and was thinking about getn one…
I have a 2014 850 XP I don’t have any power to ignition or Gauges but do have power to fuse box, starter. Is there an Ignition fuse and if there is where is it. It worked good parked it for the winter and 2 days ago it wouldn’t start.
Recently purchased the kick panel set up. I am wonder where you guys mounted your amp. I cant fit it up in the dash (too big) I have a RZR4 is under the "hood" out of the question seems the only place it will fit. I have factory EPS and a glovebox. Any help is much appreciated.
Hey guys, I’m new to the whole predator scene, made the switch from the raptor 660 and have been very pleased thus far. Recently I noticed coolant in my oil. Starting going to town on it to replace the head gasket. head gasket ended up being fine, but it was the lower base gasket. The timing chain came off the bottom sprocket and I’m trying to figure out how to set the timing. I have the cams in the right position with the intake marks at 9 and 12. And the exhaust cam just 1 tooth advanced. Now i read somewhere about removing the clutch to line something up with a gear? That might not be right but I’m hoping someone can lead me in the right direction because my timing chain does not have any brass links that I can line up at the twelve o’clock spot. Any ideas?
I have an 2007 outlander 500xt and sometimes I will start it and let it idle to warm up and it will die sometimes and it won’t start you have to crank and crank on it then it finally fires up and runs rough for a second then you let off the throttle and it idles fine it had done this twice to me in a month do you think I’m having fuel pump issues or something more major?

Made a post about an older 500 a few weeks ago, ended up getting an 09 400 tonight, with a blade, low hours, low km. She’s red. That’s about it haha
I don’t know to much about it, any tips, hints , thoughts on It would be awesome
