So my new STI HD 3 ‘ s with 6+1 offset pushed my 900 Trail out to 53 inches with 14×9 Bighorns. If I went to a ITP 14+6 with 4+2 offset, would that get me back closer to 50 inches?
I am picking my "new to me" 2008 Polaris Sportsman 500 EFI Browning Edition this weekend and want to do a fluid change on everything. I’m hoping I can get some direction on what fluids I can use instead of the Polaris ones as I don’t like paying a premium for this stuff. I’m looking for fluid suggestions for the following:
1) Front Gear Case
2) Engine Oil (I’m leaning towards Rotella T6)
3) Grease ( Leaning towards Lucas Red ‘N Tacky)
4) Transmission
5) Radiator
6) Am I missing anything?

Brand new to the forum. I’ve got a 05 pred 500 completely stock. Does anyone know a place or a website I can buy a new engine or a top end rebuild kit? I’ve searched and can’t find anything. Also any info that anyone’s done to theirs as far as a big bore kit etc and prices what not. Or what motors will swap into this with little to no mods. I’ve never tore into a 4 wheeler but I am an mechanic and have all the tools. Thanks in advance
My name is Calder Guthrie. I got the nickname Willy from my middle name and it’s stuck ever since. I’ve got a 2013 Honda Foreman 500 but I’m tired of it. It rides terrible and it’s not a smooth fourwheeler. I always find myself pretty sore after a day of riding. I’m trying to get dad back into fourwheelers so I’ll be giving it to him.
I am trading in my 2009 Grizzly 350 4×4 and buying a 2015 Polaris Sportsman 850 sp. I can’t wait to get a hold of one. I’ve ridden a few and I must say, it’s the best riding position I’ve encountered.
I won’t be doing much of anything to it. I’m hoping to find one that has the factory winch equipped. It will be getting full skid plates including A-Arms, exhaust, GPS and some lock and ride goodies.
Also, I figured I’d post up the truck in here. I’m a big off-road enthusiast and love all terrains besides mud. I take it out West to the desert several times a year and it is an excellent machine.
I look forward to communicating with everyone and learning about these quads. I’ve heard great reviews.
I feel like an idiot for posting this (Because I know I did it before)…But why can’t I locate the plug on the trans case so I can ad some oil to it? It’s been dripping small amounts, (from vent tube) only after good long vigorous rides, and I suspect it could use a splash of oil
