My modification thread- 400HO/500HO

Okay, so last summer I set off to do some extensive work on my ATVs. I decided I needed to improve them more to my liking… Well, this ended up being extremely time consuming. I’m done with my 500; it took all last summer. I’m presently working on my 400. Hopefully I can get it finished up in a couple weeks.

Since I failed to take many photos of the process on the 500HO, I’ll be taking them as I work on completing the 400HO. Hopefully some of the things I’m going to post here will be helpful for others. I can always do my best to answer questions and give guidance. I must give Hatzie a lot of credit here. He helped me out a great deal on the work-light/reverse light mod. There is a decent chance I could have figured it out on my own, but it would have taken so incredibly long that I wouldn’t have figured it worth my time. The work alone is time consuming enough.

Here’s my long list of modifications:
-Larger Battery and battery tray
-Bus Bars for +/-
-New battery cables
-Auxillery fuse block
-Battery charge port in fender
-Work/reverse light on three position switch: Reverse/off/on
-Light bar rewire
-LED tail light bulbs
-Cooling fan over-ride for shut-off and turn on: Over-ride on/normal/over-ride off
-Reverse RPM over-ride lock-out
-Convert Yellow over-ride button to a horn button
-Horns
-New Winches (viper Max 3500)
-Wired winch control port in Fender
-Refinish crappy powder coating on Polaris bumpers
-Fix stripped out self-tapping screw holes

Future additions are going to include:
-Rear mounted power plug for expedient jump/slave cable hook-up
-Coolant temp gauge
-Handle bar mounted mini flood lights
-Polaris LED headlights
-Onboard air compressor
-Heated grips, throttle and seat

new stock wheels and tires off 2015 1000 for sale michigan

I just bought a new 2015 rzr 100 4 seater. First thing i di was order new whells and tires. I have the original stock set of wheels and bighorn tires for sale. They were only used 1 time for a 18 mile ride down a trail by my house.
I live in michigan and travel all over the state for work so if you are a michigan guy that wants them it could save you shipping costs as we could meet somewhere. I dont know how to ship them, or how much shipping cost or anything like that. So i figured a michgan person would be easiest.
selling full stock set of wheels, tires, and lugnuts.

Tire Upgrade on a budget

Had an idea, want to see what you guys think:

We want to upgrade tires. I know how my kids ride, therefore some sexy aftermarket wheels seem like a waste, especially for the moment money. I’m thinking of using 10×5 delta steels on the front with a 22×8-10 Mudlite & using the stock rear wheels with a 22×11-9 on the rear. What do u think??
Also, it will have 2 kids in it all the time, does it need the 11T sprocket?

700 Efi rough idle then dies

I’ve got an 05 sportsman 700 with about 1000 miles that I’m having some issues with. I went for a ride the other day close to home since it hasn’t been started in a few years everything seemed fine so I kept going after getting about 15 miles from home I stopped turned it off for a few mins. When I went to start it it barely idled then sputtered backfired and died. It seemed to be starving for fuel. Long story short the only way I go it home was by turning it over then holding it wide open and it would go ok like that but the second I let off full throttle it continued to loose power until it rolled to a stop the spudered and died did this about 15 times and I was home. So I thought fuel pump or filter- no bypassed filter and checked fuel pressure at rail 40 lbs. next I dumped out all the gas put in new gas blew out the lines … Nothing so I changed the plugs and changed air filter… No difference… So I took the throttle body apart cleaned it pulled the injectors out to see if they had melted or something.. Looked fine… I checked voltage on the tps I have .48 yellow wire and it goes up as i press the the throttle. If I adjust the throttle cable it runs worse. I took apart the air flow sensor cleaned it. Nothing made a difference if I unplug the air flow sensor it seems to run the same. Except I get a code. Other then that I don’t get any codes and nothing I do seems to help. If it was the Bap sensor or the tps sensor that was bad wouldnt I get a code for it?? I’m leaning towards buying a new mass airflow sensor or whatever polaris calls it. Any help would be great.. Thanks in advance.
