“Check Engine” something is wrong, need help.

So I went on a long ride yesterday and ran my 2014 sportsman 800 pretty hard. It performed great for most of the ride but then at one point it stalled, check engine light was on, and the cooling fan didn’t seem to be working. It started right back up no problem. No overheating light, just the check engine.

I Let it rest for awhile thinking it was just overheating. Started it up and it ran great again for a long time. Then it started having a hard time idling. It would stall if I let me thumb off the throttle completely. No big deal because it was still running great at speed and the check engine light wasn’t on. Surprisingly at the next stop the cooling fan was turning on again. Figured all was good again minus the rough idle.

Rode a bit longer and then the check engine light came on again. This time it was starting to spit and sputter, had major power loss, would stall at anything less than 1800-2000 rpm, cooling fan was only working here and there and it would not engage into 4 wheel drive.

By the end of the day I was just burin it back to the truck and it wasn’t easy. I cleaned it and started it up today. Sounded prefect, no check engine light, 4 wheel drive was engaging and it seemed to be idling ok. Decided to go for a ace ride to see what happened. Ran perfect for about 20 min before all the Same symptoms came back.

The check engine light is so vague and the symptoms so sporadic I don’t know where to begin. I checked all the fluids and everything looked good.

I like tinker on stuff myself but Where do I begin? Or is the answer to just take it to the shops.

Thanks in advance for any and all advice here.

You missed out

You missed out on a great race this weekend (May 16). There was some dust that was quickly blown off the track, then just a slight drizzle tacked up the track. The last two laps got a little slick, but was awesome. We need the cars to come back, new scoring worked flawlessly.

D&D exhaust question?

OK, so recently a buddy asked me if I wanted his D&D slip-on for trade for my stock exhaust. When i asked why, he said it was too loud. He said it was the D&D Quiet Tech so I gladly accepted the trade thinking how much louder could it be? I’ve read some product reviews and seen some YouTube vids along with some post on the forum. I thought it was gunna be a little louder than stock but this thing is rediculous. I absolutley love the way it sounds and am planning on keeping it. However, Inside or outside the cab it is mind numbing loud. I’m wondering if maybe he mistakenly purchased the D&D Barker instead of the QT? Is there anyway to tell the difference between the two? And if it is the Barker can it be transformed into the QT?

Experience w/ stock XP4 1K @ St. Anthony

Hello,
Heading to St. Anthony in June. I have been there a couple times with ATV’S but not the RZR. Does any one have hands on experience with a stock XP4 1K @ ST. A? I will be running stock clutching with STU 26" paddles rear and Delta V’s up front.
Thank you,
Chris

4×4 stuck on

2009 800 I broke my factory sprague, replaced it with new alluminum cage, rollers, pins, new fluid, all the air is bleed out, but seems to be somewhat stuck in 4×4, the indicated on my cluster goes out, but if I purposely spin my rear tires on ice, while the 4×4 switch is in 2×4, front tires will go in and out of enguagement. When switch is in 4×4 mode front tires are locked in as they should be. Any ideas, also a polaris tech did my work for me (after hours) and he doesnt really know whats causing it.

OEM kick out rock slider problem

I noticed today that one of the sliders was not very secure. Took it off and found one of the bolt ends (similar to a molly bolt) had pulled through the holt on the frame. Any suggestions on other than drilling a hole through the frame for a normal bolt? Not very impressed with the Polaris method of securing these to the rzr. Maybe there is some other system to secure it.

2010 Trail Blazer oil cooler fan questions

Hello,

New guy here.

Just bought a 2010 330 Trail Blazer for my daughter.

Very low mile ATV, everything looks stock, undamaged and unmodified.

She was riding today in our woods and the high temp light came on.

I noticed I didn’t hear the oil cooler fan running.

Let the ATV cool down, started it up(no high temp light) and after about 15 minutes of riding the light was back on, no fan running that I could hear.

I’m new to these, should the fan come on with the light or before.

I pulled the plug on the thermistor? and jumped 1 and 3 wires, the high temp light came on the dash but no cooling fan running.

Fan is plugged in to harness.

Where to check next?
Is there a fuse or breaker for the fan? Where?

Anything else to check?

Thanks.
