What’s your thoughts on this

I’ve been working on getting my 2004 atp 500 running right. I’m almost there but still have a problem with the thing running lean.

It starts easily (when choked) but misses and backfires when revved up. Hard to get it to idle when warmed up with no choke.

I’ve gone over it several times and have not found an air leak.

I have replaced the carb with a NEW Polaris OEM Mukini BST. I assume that it was properly adjusted at the factory. Bad assumption?

I also replaced a scored exhaust rocker arm. Checked the cam and compression release. Both are ok.

However, I may not have it timed correctly. Had trouble finding tdc by looking in timing inspection hole.

So is it a carb issue or timing?

All ideas are appreciated.

Question about my 2015 SP 850 in 4WD.

My question is about my 850 in 4WD. When I have it in 4WD and I turn it left to right and back right to left it feels like something is grinding and it seems it pulls harder when I am making a turn just in 4WD. There is no noise of grinding I can just feel it in the handlebars. It feels a lot different then my 550. And this is all on dry ground. Is it the new close ratio 4WD or is there something wrong ?

Thanks.

Clutch engagement / slipping gear box, help

I have had a 2011 XP 850 Touring for about a week now. It was doing the hard engagement in reverse and a little bit in high. I’ve owned a dozen different Sportsmans but never had this issue. I figured it was due to the belt slipping so I got a new Highlifter 3GX and now it’s worse than ever. The quad is actually jerking in forward and still really hard in reverse. I know how to change belts, and I know it’s on right. It almost seems like the gear case is slipping and jumps in and out.
Advice anyone PLEASE. I love this machine and don’t want it to be a money pit. There less than 1,600 miles on it.

question on snorkeling outlander 1000

I plan on snorkeling my 2012 outlande 1000 soon. I’ve done many bikes before but first time owning a canam. Any help is appreciated!!

I’m guessing the front/rear diff vents should already be ran up to the pod. Is there anything else I need to run up??
I seen there is a hole in airbox for draining which I plan on siliconing. I read somewhere that the cvt exhaust will have to be 1.5"?
