Hey, Brent here! I’m 53 and new owner of a 2015 Grizzly 700 special edition silver ATV. I’ve been around ATV’s for a long time with my brothers and Dad all having one for 20+ years. I finally have one I call my own. Real excited to get out on the trail. My son has Dirt Bikes and we plan to hit the trails together, good father son time.
I look forward to sharing my experiences here with you and learn from many of you what has worked well for you in your upgrades/improvements as well as your trips and pictures.
Happy to be part of a group of like minded folk.
Sorry for the basic signature. I could not find where to add all the details.
I bought a 2015 sportsman 850 White lightning a few weeks ago. Whenever I shift it into any gear I have to ease on the gas until it catches gear, and it feels kinda rough. Is this normal? I had an 850 a few years ago but don’t really remember much about how it shifted. My 2013 400 HO isn’t like that but this is a totally different machine. Any help would be awesome!
Also is there anyway to remove the speed limiter without voiding warranty? I mean its fast enough I’d just like to have it removed.
So I noticed the throttle limiter screw was set to about 1/8 " from the dealer. I read somewhere in the owners manual that " performance may not reach maximum until break in complete" or something to that effect.
I’m not yet at the 10 hr mark.
Wondering if they pull the limiter screw out as part of the 10 hr service to reinforce that statement…
What do you all think??
I have a problem with my 2012 sportsmen 500 with 900km. I started noticing a problem when I would start it in gear with the override with the brake on the handle bar. With the key on I would press the brake, then the dash would go out and wouldn’t start, I would turn the key off and then back on again and it would start. Then when I was driving it, I used the brake again and it died, dash went out wouldn’t start, now it won’t start at all no matter what I do. All I have done is Check the fuses at the front and they are good. Going to start Checking all power and grounds to the module. I was just wondering if anyone knew where I can get a schematic and if anyone has seen this problem before. I don’t abuse my atv and it’s always kept in a garage.
I’m looking for any assistance in diagnosing this issue because I really don’t have the cash right now to take it in. I have a 99 Polaris Sportsman 500 that was running fine then after sitting for a month or so started having this issue.
The ATV will start relatively easily and appear to idle fine but upon attempted acceleration it bogs down and stalls. I can get it to move forward or reverse at a crawl if I shift it into low and feather the throttle just right but if I give it just a bit too much throttle, the engine stalls.
Here’s what I’ve done so far to try to remedy the situation:
* New plug
* Drain fuel tank and refill with premium (with some Seafoam)
* Bought a carb kit and rebuilt the carb and just to make sure – removed the carb a second time and checked and cleaned it. The carb kit came with all new jets, springs, gaskets, etc..
* Checked the fuel flow from after the fuel filter and it appears to be running sufficiently.
* The battery is strong.
I did call a mechanic in town who works on ATVs and he seemed pretty confident that changing out the fuel would resolve the issue… but it didn’t.
Any suggestions on what to check next would be greatly… greatly appreciated.
Hi to all the GC members! I decided to register because i will buy a grizzly 700 in november 2015. My dream Grizzly will have 4 mods on it for fast winter trail riding. 4 Elka shocks with relocated and re-welded mounts to make it 3 inch lower. 4 wheels spacers to make it 50 inch wide and a complete ROX steering system.
Members will help me with HP perfomance mods to the motor as i goto the treads in weeks to come. here are 3 pictures of my futur project.
