In the last two weeks, my ATV has TWICE failed to start because the battery is empty.
But the weird part is that I’ve had it for a year and it always started fine even in -25c but now when it’s only like -1 or -2 it won’t start. Is this because of some backlog of not charging it and if I once load it fully it won’t be an issue anymore or should I just get a new battery?
If I should get a new battery, how will I make it fit in the tiny spot of the current battery, or do good batteries exist that are that small?
I am working on my wheeler and always have bad bolts. We have a big selection of SAE bolts but very few metric. I was wondering I you knew where I could get a large metric bolt kit or a Honda ATV bolt kit. Would like it to be at least 1000 pieces so it would last. Where do you guys get all your bolts when doing a rebuild? Thanks a lot.

I just bought this 2000 scrambler and I have a question about the steering stem. I can move the steering stem up and down by pulling up on the handle bars. From what I can see there is a bushing on the bottom of the steering stem that has a nut on the bottom of it that is probably worn out. I have been looking and cant find this part anywhere to purchase the new bushing. Has anyone replaced this and were did you get the bushing from ? Thanks
I have a 2014 Rancher 4×4 manual shift and I have been having problems with upshifting…mostly from 2nd to 3rd. It only has about 41 miles on it and could still just be breaking in but it does feel off while shifting. I’ve noticed when the ATV is cold it is definitely harder to shift. The foot shifter just does not want to go up into the next gear. It does eventually go into gear but it takes some time. Is there a clutch adjustment that I need to do?
Also when I came to a stop, the ATV shut off but I was able to turn it back on without any problems. This happened when I was having problems shifting too. Don’t know if it’s related. Thanks.
I’m doing some research to buy a pair of "newer" ATVs for my wife and I. We have had a pair of TRW300 4WD quads in the family since the mid-90s and still ride them today. I also have ridden many different motorcycles and currently have a Yamaha XT225 Enduro that I mainly ride off-road. We have an 11 yr daughter chasing us around on a Raptor 90 quad and a 9 yr old boy on a CRF 70.
After spending a couple of days riding on a friend’s "track", I’m considering upgrading both of us to sport quads that will give us a better ride over the bumps and could feel more comfortable if the tires left the ground once in a while.
We plan to spend most of our time split between general trail riding and blasting around in some of the private quarries here in Michigan. Bundy Hill is our main spot to go in Michigan, although we’d like to try some tracks, such as Morelands this summer.
I’d like to spend between $2k-$3k on each.
For Me: I’m comfortable riding a true sport machine, fully clutched. Just wondering about what size I should look for? I’m 5’8", 170lbs. I don’t need top speed as a requirement. 400EX? 300EX? Other brands? I have to say I’m not tied to Honda except for the fact that our quads have been bulletproof for over 20 years. That definitely gains my loyalty. I grew up riding the Yamaha enduro, which is why I picked up the one I have now.
My Wife: She’s as aggressive as they come when riding. She’s ridden all her life, although I doubt I can get her to go back to using a clutch. She’s fine with shifting though. I don’t really want to go to fully automatic like a Polaris. I didn’t know that Honda even offered this Sportclutch feature until I started researching last night. Would the 250EX be the perfect quad for her? If it’s as fast as our current utility quads, it’s probably fast enough. The only drawback I can see is that the suspension travel is about half of the 400’s. Is that enough of a drawback to stay away from them?
Help me out here please. It’s going to take me a while to get up to speed on the variety of models and features out there.

Hi everyone. I’m new in the sphere of ATVs. It is my first quad (polaris sportsman 550 / 2010.). I bought a used one. Now a strange noise appears from under the seat. I found that the belt was replaced in 2011. Can it be the sound of the belt. Here is the link of the sound it produces. Vocaroo | Voice message
would be extremely thankful to your advice.
