whats a bad cv joint sound like

honestly haven’t dug into anything, just figured I’d ask here first to get a heads up as to what I’m looking for when I get time to tear into it.

Last couple times I’ve ridden when the 4wd kicks in and I have to turn the bars left I get a very distinct rachetcing feel thru the bars and a distinct click click click noise…..but only when the front end is under load trying to claw out or up something. When back on normal trails and maybe a moderate engagement of awd I don’t notice anything…just under a good load.

Assuming it’s the CV joint that took a crap, going to jack it up and check all the CV boots and see if one has a tear or something that allowed crude to get in and start the destruction.

Can you JUST change the cv joint, or do guys just order a whole new half shaft?

Upgrading Tires and wheels help

I have a 2015 1000xp 4 that have 1300miles and I have burned through my rear tires. I am looking to upgrade all 4 tires to a 14 or 15 size tire. I ride hard packed desert, Sandy washes, dunes and over small to mid-size sharp rocks. Im looking for advice on what tire and size (14 or 15) would work the best and the best beadlocks. Without having to upgrade any suspension or clutch. Thank you in advance for your feedback.

Master Cylinder or Brake Reservoir Screw size ” Please help…

My question is I have a 2013 yamaha grizzly 550 and the screws on the master cyclinder stripped. Part number 98707-04012-00. Anyone know the size of this bolt or what a good replacement hex head would be? Thanks for anyone’s help. Trying to get ready for Mudd Jam and the damn screw stripped on me. Gotta replace it locally and want to make sure I have the right size.

1995 sportsman 400 wont idle

Hey guys new to the forums and having some problems with my 400.

the first problem i was having is that it was not getting any fuel. so i would try to start it with some brake clean and it would start but run at full throttle. So i cleaned the carb and got it to flow so here is my current problem when i fire it up it the thing will not idle no matter what i adjust it just runs at full power screaming and kicking:hmmm:. so has anyone had this problem? thinking its the reeds but im not to entirely sure.
any help would be much appreciated

2015 xp1k runs rough off idle

Anyone ever seen a 2015 xp1k car run rough at part throttle and at lower rpm. Has 200 miles on it now, but has do e it since 0. Runs fine with a bit of throttle or at higher rpm in a load, but under no load at light throttle, is I’d very choppy, almost missing, and honestly don’t idle really smooth. I have three other friends with new xp1 cars and they are smooth. Quests ill be taking it in for warranty work already unless I find out its something simple. I will try plugs but doubt its that. Maybe an unbalanced injector, or jumped tooth on cam? Runs great everywhere except lower rpm and light throttle.
