Oil Filter Question.

Yes I know there are a million threads on this but I have one that goes into alittle more detail. I decided to try a Mobil M1-108 oil filter from the Polaris filter. Well I took the Polaris filter off and wanted to compare it to the new Mobil filter. Now the Mobil filter is just a hair shorter then the Polaris filter. Why is that ? One last question is the Mobil Filter says high performance oil filter and I set them side by side and one difference I noticed is the Polaris filter has 8 holes for oil flow compared to the Mobil filter one which only has 6 holes. Now has anyone noticed a difference between the two or could you even tell a difference ? I ran it of course and could not tell any difference compared to power.

Stupid Polaris dealer gives wrong info?

So this sub-forum seems teeming with opinions, here say, and "do it my way" advice. Let’s continue. (I will probably also post similar questions in the Xpedition forum as it is in regards to a 2000 325 Xpedition.)

New owner, noticed oil level was low last night prior to snow plowing. Stopped at the local Polaris dealer today to pick up a quart. Owner’s manual says PP4 0W/40 at 4.5 quart capacity. Tell dealer that I have a 2000 Xpedition 325 and need oil. Immediately takes me to an ‘oil change kit’ 2 quarts of 5w50 synth and a filter for $34. Told them that the manual says 4.5 quarts. Dealer says well you can get just a single quart to top off. All they have is PS-4 5w50 synth.

Asked the question if this oil is correct/ compatible with the older machines . . . . Yes they said.

So there you have it. I’m tossing this out there for feedback.

My intuition says to buy some quality full synthetic 0w40 and go from there. Is my local dealer full of it? Why are they wanting to sell an oil change kit that would leave me 2.5 quarts low?

95 400l 2×4. I know there’s a millon oil threads here but most are older threads and with soo many advancements in lubrication in general I have a question. My machine being an older one , I’d like to run the best fluids as possible. Which 2 stroke injection oil is the best out rite now? Thanks in advance. Also , would running premium gas make a difference?

What is going to be the flavor of oil for the wifes new ride? You think she will let you keep running the POPO oil.
Did you buy the cargo box you were thinking about getting? Looks nice but that is a steep price for a box. I have the POPO lock and ride on my 570 and it works great.

Best oil on the market

Been a few days since I’ve seen a new oil thread so I figured I would start a new one. Just doing my part to keep things normal round here.

My oils better than your oil!…your dumb. Mine comes in a pretty gray bottle too!

In all seriousness Has anyone ever tried or see a UOA for John Deere oil (0W-40 of coarse)? In atv or yanmar?

Hub Oil???

I have a 2004 Sportsman 700. Purchased a oil change kit and it came with Demand Drive Fluid for Hub & Centralized Hilliard Clutches. I cannot figure out where this goes. Youtube videos show it going in front wheel hubs on a 500HO, but my hubs don’t look like those and I see no place for this to go on my hubs.

Any ideas or videos that can point me in the right direction?
