Recon question

Hello all have a 97 recon and my question is when your at high speeds is it ok to hold down the shifter and let it coast down to a slower speed or is that hard on the clutch?I was trying to keep it from revving high when it is slowing down i heard that is hard on the engine.

Wheel Play?

I jack up my 2012 touring 850 with 26x11x14 rear grim reapers and wiggle them with both hands.
1/4 inch or less of play on both tires.
I take them off and what’s wiggly is the hangers that the cv joints go into. I guess they’re just that way to have a little play in them? The axle nuts are tight and cotter pins are in, so what is it?

Thanks!

Alternative Air Filter for 800/800s maybe others.

This was brought up in a few other threads that I found, but no real pictures that i could dig up, so i figured what the heck, a Fram air filter #8805 is $12.00 at wally world…..

Here are a few pics of the "install" (like it takes a rocket surgeon).

Stock filter compared to FRAM 8805

i took the stock black ring around the inlet of the stock filter off.

I took the ring off and flipped it so that the wider flat side was against the filter, put just a small dab of silicone to keep it in place.

here it is installed in the Fram 8805

After the black ring stays in place all you have to do is slide it on the same way that the stock filter goes on. the black ring makes a stop for the filter other wise it can slide past the groove on the intake tube. here’s the end result.

hope this helps anyone looking for a good alternative to the factory filter. Not sure what other models this will work on, but mine is a 2010 RZR 50" for reference.

Sportsman 400 noise in front

I have a 14 Sportsman 400 and I noticed a noise in my shock / strut however it sounds like it’s the spring I can’t really tell, I can’t hear it when I ride it I can when it’s in the garage and I push down on the front left. It Sounds like a squeak pop really weird sound. Does anyone have any ideas? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

need a bit of info rebuilding a 2002honda400ex

so i did a compression test i let it warm up for about 5 min i did the compression test twice and getting 100 psi the manual says 100 to 128 psi

so i am going to get it bored to a 416 wiseco 87mm 11 to 1 compression piston and give it a Honda crf450r timing chain and of course new gaskets
now for the big question do i take the auto decompression mechanism off the cam and run it like that or leave it on — the stock cam is like new

any info would be great
thanks
