Wheel spacers, good or bad?
2004 TRX450FM can’t engage first gear? The rest are fine!
I’ve recently bought my Dad a 2004 Honda TRX450FM, the quad is a little rough but everything worked fine when it was delivered, came to ride it the other day and first gear will not engage. You can select reverse fine and you can select second gear and pull off ok in that gear and the quad goes through the rest of the gears fine. Does anyone know what this could be?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I’ve got some experience on bikes but this is the first quad I’ve had anything to do with.

What do you have in your car at all times? Belt? Tierods? Etc.
New Rzr owner needs tips
New to the off road thing. Did a half day in an unlimited buggy in Reno and was hooked. I was shopping for a utility UTV for my wife to use at our place, saw the Rzr desert edition and was hooked. So, ive ripped around our property some, dumped it on its side once and I’m really enjoying it. I do have a couple questions though and was hoping someone here would know.
Where are some places around San Antonio Texas where I can really run this thing?
Where can I find some window nets so I don’t break an arm when and if I flip it again?
Also looking for a couple fire extinguishers and mirrors.
Looking forward to more fun in this new adventure!

2007 sportsman 500 efi problems
The problem: while riding the quad about a month ago we rode for approximately 5 hrs and stopped for a break…during that 5 hrs everything was running perfect until we went to leave from our break. The quad started but shortly after (30 seconds) it randomly shut off. We couldn’t get it started again so we towed it home. The next day I was able to start it again but I could only Rev up to approx 3/4 throttle where it would bog out and die. I now can not fire it up again…everything on the cluster functions as it should and it still turns over no problem..I have checked the spark and it has healthy spark…also verified that the fuel pump was operating and it was. I then pulled the flash codes which turned up
41 air temp sensor high voltage
22 tps low/high
44 cps circuit fault
47 iac stepper motor open load/short to ground
I then verified that all the sensors were good which all of them tested OK…also checked the common areas where wiring problems occur and visually looked ok…checked the wiring for continuity to all the sensors which again checked out ok
Is there anything I’ve missed Right now I’m leaning towards a faulty ecm. Not sure if this is common or not and keep in mind that this quad has about 13000km on it too

Looking for help on my top end build
Using about a qt per ride
Compression about 170 on both sides
Carb loaded with crap
Trying to figure out my first top end.
1. I’m unclear whether my cylinder is bad or not.
2. It has been suggested that my oil loss is my valves not piston rings? Gap in the picture is at least double spec I believe. Valves seem to be fine with no visible signs of pitting or wear. They feel smooth. Can’t tell if valve seats are bad or not?
3. I figured I prob should just replace pistons and rings since it’s apart. There is some wear on the pistons but I don’t know if that means they are bad or not. Nothing to obvious to me on sight or feel that makes me think they are bad
