im new here although ive been reading the forum for awhile… ok so ive done some research about the 570 shutting off while at idle when the exhaust is submerged. when i read that i thought it was weird because mine never did that. well sure enough the next day it did it three times. the issue i ran into is i only ride in 2wd until i need 4×4. well i found out the hard way that my 570 wont go into 4×4 if the rear tires are spinning. so every time i would let it idle down to engage 4×4 it would die on me. so to get to the point i did something about it today. So i have access to an exhaust pipe bender and i have a welder so i started cutting today. i took 2" exhaust pipe and made my snorkel out of that. i took a small piece of 2" exhaust and angle cut it. i took a 2" hole saw to the rear of the muffler and welded that in (some call it the exhaust mod and it is louder) for the old exhaust hole i went to the local hardware store an found a fender washer that would fit over it. then i found a nut that would fit into the center of the fender washer and a bolt ( i figured i could use it as a drain so when i sink my bike i can get the water out) i made it so the snorkel is removable because i dont normally want to ride with it on. if you have any questions feel free to ask away.
was wondering what can all cause limp home to scroll across the gauge. mine recently is scrolling this message across after 10 minutes of riding, shut it off and start it up and gone for 10 minutes again then comes back,
it doesn’t change the way it runs at all just the annoying message.
was wondering if their is a full list on what gives you the limp home message. or if anyone know what i should check
taking to the dealer to scan isn’t an option for awhile
please someone help me out here.. i bought the Polaris rock sliders and they came with them shitty bolt things that go into the frame. First off they were b**** to get on and i had to take them off. Well the hardware is ruined and polaris won’t help me, any suggestions? lol

So as the topic reads I was riding Saturday and a stick came through my drain hole in the skid plate and put a gash in the tank. Its about 1/2" wide and 3"s long. I was wondering if any of you guys knew how to repair a plastic tank and what works best. Anew tank is around 500 or so dollars and I would rather try to fix this than spend the extra change. Thanks.

Anyone else experience this, or happen to have any idea the cause?
2004 700 EFI Sportsman.
Yesterday when riding home, I was going down the road at 50 mph. Then my atv began slowing down. I pressed the throttle and there was no change in engine rpm. I was able to keep it at 30 mph max, but when I pressed the throttle to go faster, there was no change. It almost seems like the atv isn’t realizing I’m pressing the throttle farther.
It starts and runs fine up to 30 mph max. I press the throttle and it accelerates fine but seems to only have 1/2 throttle power. After 1/2 throttle there is no change.
No other issues at all. Is this related to the throttle position sensor not sending the correct information to the engine?
I have a 2012 polaris sportsman 500 h.o and the display stopped working. The lights still work and the wheeler will run i just have no display. I then realized that the awd is also not working. The battery was junk that was in it so i replaced it. This is where im at and if anyone could help it would be greatly appreciated!
