Maintenance and repairs

I own 2 of the 2001 Trail Boss 325s. Neither of them idle very well. I had someone work on one of them, becuase the battery had been hooked up to a battery charger wrong, and smoked the headlamp, buld and numerous other components. I runs again now, but if you touch the handle bar, it shuts off. Can anyone advise me on thiss? Should I replace the thumb paddle ? Also have these machines had lots of problems with idling?

Speed limiter delete box screwed my DPS!

I installed a small module to eliminate the speed limiter. I can’t remember the name of the speed limiter delete box. Its just a plug in box that hooks between the speed sensor and speedometer, so it cuts the speed in half at 70mph.

Anyway to make a long story short, I installed this speed box when my 1,000 XXC was a few months old and it deleted the speed limiter just as I wanted it to do.
I had random intermittent Power Steering issues and just figured it was a software glitch. So I ended up taking it in for the DPS software update and it got much better. Shortly after, the DPS was on and off and finally died almost completely and the check engine light came on. I took it to the dealer expecting to get a $1,500 bill for replacing the power steering unit itself.

I got a call last week from the dealer saying the "speed sensor was throwing error codes". I figured the speed box was causing this, so I informed the dealer of the speed box being installed. He put new speed sensor in and the power steering still acted funny but the Speed señsor errors were still there. So he removed the speed box and all the error codes all went away and he rode it 15 miles and the DPS works perfectly now.

I can’t believe I ran this dam speed box all along while it screwed my DPS up. I’m curious if anyone else has this box, and if its causing issues with your DPS?

I’m hoping to pick the quad up later this week and test ride it to be SURE this really did fix it!
$200 is a lot better than a DPS replacement charge! 🙂

Rear right axle

Bought a new grizz the other Dayana when I got it the axle was clicking(right rear) but still took it on a little ride ,then pop! And it broke but I still rode it home with just one wheel , I know it was broke when I got home I checked in on the jack. But can’t see that it’s broken . Wil driving it after it broke cause any more damage??
