Things I know are problems.
Eps works sometimes and the eps box has play. I’m pretty sure the relay is bad.
The exhaust is hot as hell with glowing head pipes but I read this is normal and the issue that concerns me the most is oil had gas in it.
I definitely don’t like the air box lid at all. Other that that it ate a modified brute and renegade in a drag for lunch

primary clutch knocking and sqeaking.
My primary clutch makes a fairly loud knocking noise at idle and on shutdown, with the belt cover off it is extremely loud. After a awhile of driving it will sometimes sqeak/sqeal time to time. While driving it doesn’t seem very noisy at all.
It can be a little jerky on takeoff but nothing extreme, it also likes to grind changing gears often. Otherwise it performs fine.

Does it sound rebuildable or better off the order a new one. Also by my mod list is there anything different then a bone stock primary to help the 800 out a lil more.
BTW my secondary seems fine for now so I’d like to save some money and leave it alone for now.
04 Sportsman 400 Mid-Range Stumble after carb clean
So like a month ago, I cleaned the carb on my yellow 400. Nothing was changed, just cleaned. Slide moves freely. When I reinstalled it, it had a wicked stumble around 3500 RPM. I dropped the needle 4 settings and it helped, but it still did it. I cleaned the air filter, and it does it even less. Am I on the right track? It sounds like it hits rev limiter, then it’ll rev up. Most of the time it’ll run fine now but it’ll still stumble 20% of the time.

Idler gear movement on flywheel/starter clutch
I recently replaced the one way bearing on my 07 bigbear 400. I have this problem with a litte movement of the idler gear for the starter clutch. I ran it all weekend at the last weekend. I didn’t have any problems with but I didn’t fell good about it so I pulled it all apart. I went to a local yamaha dealer and talked to a mechanic and he said it looks fine.
