Put new top end on except for valve cover new piston jug was bored 16 over and the piston fit perfect but had issues with the oil ring on it guy said it was to long so he cut it a little bit and it fit put it all bacm together and I had issues getting it started turned out to be a timing issue and the vales were to tight got all that fixed started it and it is smoking something awful please help its a constant smoke !

i have already found some good info on this site and ppl seem to be pretty decent to deal with thanks i live in danbury wi drive ready mix truck in summer & log skidder in the winter. The last 7yrs i been on a 660 raptor but sick of the hard saddle and shifting all the time…. i had the girl friend on a 2000 500 scrambler and liked it alot so when the timing gear broke we retired it. Never had a brand new machine but for mostly trail riding i think its the answer. I hope the check out this site from time to time to see how things are going and ask a few questions every now & then ttyl

Snorkel or rad relocate kit first

I live in Florida for the last 24 yrs, My daughter started going to the Punta Gorda Red Neck Yacht Club about 4 yrs ago,Finally talked me into going 1 1/2 yrs ago. Now I have 2 wranglers and 3 atv’s. Finally got the radiator on the rack
Well, after a few hours of head scratching and wrenching, mostly head scratching, I finally got my radiator relocated. I also got my snorkels mocked up and siliconed last night, so hopefully after today I’ll have all my mods done. Except for the most important one, the speakers :lala:
Any suggestions installing (Twist Throttle)
I have decided to install a twist throttle on my 08 700 xx, and most have suggested going with (Motion pro). Looking at their web page there is no selection for my quad to order cable and handle bar mounting part. There is however calculations for ordering. I also see on Ebay a motion pro listed to fit a 700 xx. What does the (Twist Throttle) crowd do for their quad install.
Ground Clearance
I just got a 1000 touring model. The ground clearance is measuring at 8.5", published is 11.25. I measured it on level ground next to a 2015 570 touring with both the published measurements in hand. The 570 was off by about a 1/2 inch. Mine was off by almost 3". Also the seat height is 2" lower than listed online. Anyone have an idea of why? My shocks are set at the softest/lowest setting. Can this account for 3" of ground clearance?
