trx300fw carb issues

Hello,
I recently rebuilt the top end on a 1988 trx300fw and am now having idle issues. Some times the ATV will idle slow so I idle it up. It will idle normally for awhile then after about 5 minutes of riding it will idle very fast. I installed a plug in the starter jet hole as the manual said to do. Is that a special type of plug? What could I try doing to get a normal idle?
Thanks
JStok

Chainsaw

I was wondering how everybody with a 570 was carrying their saws. Is there a lock and ride mount or are people making their own? Pictures will help haha. Just looking for ideas.

06 outlander 800 question.

I bought a used can am and it runs great, but I’m concerned on this starting issue I’m having.

If I put the key on and start it, it starts right up. If I turn the key to off and then quickly back to on and try to restart it, it won’t start it will just crank. If I pull the key out and wait till the screen turns off and then key it back to on it will start up.. Don’t know if this is a normal function or not as this is my first ATV.

Local dealer won’t even give me an idea or anything unless I pay them 95$ so see if I can’t try to fix it myself

new engine, 2013 850

I sunk my 2013 Polaris sportsman XP touring 850. I couldn’t spin the clutch, so I pulled apart the top end, and both pistons are in pieces. I haven’t gotten any deeper into it, yet.
I need a new engine. Looking for advice.
2 dealerships quoted me $4k, and $4.5k for a new engine from polaris.
Not much to choose from on Ebay.
What’s a rebuild cost? Is there a kit?

Once again, just looking for advice. Thanks in advance.

Electrical issue?

Saw a cheap 680 on a local board. Described as

It’s a 2007 Honda rincon with a 2 inch lift big red gear reduction fresh rebuild on top end. It runs great just has an electrical issue throwing the oil temp light, FI light, and won’t show what gear it is in but will run and drive no problem until it kicks back and busts the magnet in the starter. The shop I just got it out of told me to carry it to the Honda shop because the didn’t have the computers to fix it. But they said the fuel injection needed to be reset

Any idea what would cause this? The gear issue sounds like a gear position switch maybe, but not sure about the other, especially the "kick back and busts the magnet in the starter"….

Polaris code (520 194 7)

After a lovely 4 days of owning my new machine, the bike throws the check engine light at me and the code reads (520 194 7). Its a (Throttle Release Signal) and is getting taken to the shop today. Was told the part SHOULD be covered and labor as well. Can anyone tell me why all of a sudden this part went out? I understand electronics malfunction, But is there any actual reason other than defective electronics that could have made this happen? Bike will probably be there for a week or so. Hoping no long than that…
