Newbe here to forum and to ATVing…

Well I am new to the atv world and I just purchased a new Commander XT 1000 Camo. I was very impressed with the power it has. Puts you back in your seat thats for sure. From all I have been reading so far is you have a break in procedure…which I wish the dealer would have told me about when I bought it. Well when I got home, I took it out and let’er have it for about and hour and a half or so. So I put on maybe 1 or 2 miles, some at high speeds, hit a few puddles just enough to get it wet but nothing major. When I got home to put it away, I have to climb up about a 6 or 7 inches to get into my garage. I was doing this slow so I didnt smash into anything going in. In doing so, it wouldnt go up onto the concrete floor, so I gave it a little more. Started going up and started to smell rubber:sad:. Once it got in, I was inching it to its spot and there is a almost slipping sound when you start to push on the accelarator, sounds like in the front, not under me where the engine sits, but that could be deceiving. Now from reading the threads here, I should be in low gear, and in low gear and not letting ‘er rip anywhere for the first 50-100 miles. So today I took it out again, took it easy but that sound is still there when you start off slow, just for a second until you get going. If you matt it, it just takes off like it did when I brought it home. Is it still ok or did I wreck something like clutch or belt. With it still moving like "nobodys business", makes me wonder…any advise from you experienced guys?

ATV Damaged Before Delivery

Hi,

I just bought a new Honda Rancher. The dealer damaged the ATV with the forklift while removing it from the shipping crate. He is repairing it but didn’t offer any additional discount. Can the dealer even sell it as new? Shouldn’t he offer an additional discount?

Thanks

polaris scrambler 500 2005 electrical problems

I have recently brought myself my first quad bike. it brought it with a staring problem where when you turn the key to crank something trips and the ignition lights all go out and nothing happens. I could get the engine started my bypassing the starter switch and switching the starter solenoid directly. (have now fix this problem with a start button and relay ect)

I started by cleaning connections and earths and then i had no ignition lights at all. so started digging and found that there is a 6 volt drop thought the ECM (of witch part number has been recalled) so i run a feed from the battery to the output side of the ECM and all the ignition lights come back to lift and the engine will start and run, But the fronts hub will not engage does the ECM control the AWD.
