“Check DPS” when riding in wet conditions…

Hey Guys I have been looking for a solution to my problem in some older threads but no success for my situation so here it goes… My check DPS warning comes on every once and a while when riding it wet mud or water… Never happened yet while staying dry. I read two things that may be the issue… (1) Speed Sensor- needs cleaned. And (2) there are some connections getting wet. I plan to clean my sensor when I change my transmission fluid soon. So what are these connections that I need to look for and how are u guys keeping them dry/waterproof and are there any other things I need to be looking at… Thanks!

Rancher 420 Starting problem.

I have a 2007 manual shift fuel injected rancher 420, it was blowing main fuses left and right so I just unplugged everything and replugged them and that problem was solved so I went on about a 2 hour ride and the bike just died and wouldn’t start back up. it will turn over but not start. every once in a while it will randomly start. im getting no spark from the spark plug and no power from the wires connecting to the ignition coil. also I am not hearing the fuel pump come on when the key is turned over, so where do I start with locating my problem?

front end help

Hey!
On my 2014 outlander 800 , I installed elka shocks on the bike. Now when cruising along the trail and hitting bumps it’s like I can feel the shock hitting the end of its travel or there’s something loose in the front of the bike. Just replaced the ball joints and tightened the shock bolts to be sure and it’s still doing it. Is this just the feel of the shocks?

2002 Sportsman 500HO Freedom – parting out

I have a complete running 2002 Sportsman 500 Freedom edition that I believe I’m going to part out. Runs perfectly. Every part is available. Let me know if the have any specific parts you need. I may consider selling the whole bike if anyone is interested. Roughly 300 miles on it. Still has original tires with plenty of tread. 100% original. It needs a starter (I have a new one). While trying to remove the clutch (which is required to replace the starter) I stripped the threads of the center bolt that secures the clutch. That’s the only problem with it. Thanks.

Searching for a “real” honda quad differential for E-Vehicle

Hi guys,
i signed up in hope to get an advice from you.

At my university, we are working on a small electric vehicle. For this reason, im searching for a small, lightweight differential which we can use in the car.

Sadly, most of the "differentials" used for example in the rancher arent differentials in the right definition.

Often there is used a solid axle, and as a reason of that, the differential cannot compensate the different wheel velocitys in curves.

The typical final gear does not do more than change the transmission from one final shaft to two drivetrain shafts.

coming to my final question:
Do you know any honda differential, which works as a real differential, allowing the wheels to have different velocities?

Thank you for your help.

30 year old engine

Here’s the nastiness of a 30 year old ATC200. Was running OK considering some blow by and horrible leakage during leak down test. Valves, timing chain and guides were all shot. Piston was replaced with an wiseco 10.1. I intended on taking step by step pictures of the whole process but got ahead of myself and had it 3/4 assembled before realizing I forgot to. This engine was NASTY on the inside, oil rotor had around 1/4" of build up in it.

Here’s some before/after cleaning, the ultrasonic cleaner makes quick work of it.
