New to me 1985 TRX250

Hi everyone, I am new on the forum board. I recently picked up a 1985 TRX250 for $350 not running. To me that seemed reasonable, after rebuilding the carb and cleaning out the gas tank, new fuel lines, new plug and a fresh oil change it is running great. Cranks over on first kick start or with electric start either way. The biggest issue I am having is the rims are beat up pretty bad and i can’t find anything to fit the 4/130 bolt pattern for the front. I hate that drag racing look of the huge tires in the back and those small tires in the front. There are some cracks in the plastic, but I have some ideas on how to fix that. Haven’t checked the brake lights yet but I figured that was an easy fix if I am ok with aftermarket stuff. Front brakes have to be pumped but can’t get into master cylinder, back brakes are adjusted good b/c those will almost throw me off the thing if I hit them hard. I think for its age this thing is in great shape, and for hauling dear out of the woods and an occasional ride with my brother in law I can’t beat a nicely running ATV for only $425 total after parts and all. I have a few questions of anyone cares to give some free advice.

1) I know I am missing the tube that goes from the airbox up under the fuel tank. Any idea of something I can use for that? I was thinking of some type of flex hosing but not sure what will work.

2) Front headlight wiring is shot and can’t find a light bulb for the light, any ideas on a light that I can replace the entire front headlight with?

3) Any ideas for front wheel adapter or a way to get wheels that won’t cost me a small fortune?

4) Master cylinder won’t open due to rounded rusty screws, front brakes work but I have to pump them, any idea how to open Master cylinder?

8” s3 lift or 5” s3 lift

curious which one is "better" for axles and other suspension parts? a buddy of mine put a 5” on his xp1000 with 32 outlaws and the reason was he was afraid of breaking axles. im putting the 8” lift on my xp1000 with 34 terms and all i have heard from just about everyone "ur going to regret that" "ur going to break alot of axles". i have read a lot on here about the s3 lift and i know they are built with very good craftmanship. so my question is whats the axle angle difference between the two lifts? which lift would be more app to axle and other suspension issues? i know u get more width out of the 8” which is a great advantage over the 5” lift. pros cons for each lift?

Trailer Tie Down

Where does everyone attach their tie downs on the bike? I’ve been putting one around the front bumper, just above the winch and straight down, and a second one from one corner of the trailer, around the back push bar, and down to the opposite corner of the trailer. While doing this does hold the bike to the trailer it doesn’t seem that it would offer any roll resistance if I was forced to corner suddenly. Is there a better way of doing this?
