87 trx250x
hello all, i just recently purchased an 87 trx250x. The guy i bought it from said it had a bent valve. I took the motor apart and replaced that valve and all the valve seals, put a whole new top end gasket kit on, cleaned the carb out, new spark plug, drained all the old oil and gas out, put brand new fluids in and threw it all back together. It doesnt want to idle, rough/hard to start, blows non stop white smoke, and it backfires out of the carb. i cant seem to figure out whats wrong with it, Does anybody know why it does this?

Trx300fw front driveshaft
I’ve got a dumb question. Which way does front driveshaft go in a 92 TRX300FW? Does spring go on the engine end. I’ve never had one out and I bought this one in pieces. I’m trying to get it ready for a ride.

places to ride near houston/galveston
like the title says is there any places to ride in Houston and Galveston area that I might be able to play an hour or two after work? I know there are a few places to pay and spend the day but I am talking about places like along a creek that you might park at a Walmart then ride beside it along a trail to some hills or something? I live in a city were they are just looking for you to enter the street and ticket you so right now they are parked in the garage until we can go play. when I was young and rode YZ 250s there was trails everywhere but now that I am an old fart I don’t know of any.

side-by sides at Croom?
I just saw a youtube video showing a RZR ridding in Crooms ATV site in Florida. The video was listed as the first side by side to ride in Crooms since 1972.
I have known that side by sides were not allowed in Crooms. Maybe the state of Florida has relented and allowed us to ride there now. I surely hope so as its only about a 45 minute ride from my home.
At any rate I will call tomorrow and let you all know. Would be nice for People in Centrail Florida to have another place to ride.

Side wall of tire
I gouged the side wall of tire, Small hole takes about 3 days or so to go down about 1/2 way. So can I pull this tire and do you think the dealer would patch side wall from inside, Or are they going to say new tire?
I know they wont do autos or motorcycles, But an ATV might be considered different. What do you all think?
