Extreme winch

Aloha guy’s, Has anyone had any experience with the extreme bad ass series winches? I am looking to get a winch for my grizzly 450 and was thinking about trying a 3000lb extreme with the synthetic rope. What do you guy’s think. any help will be greatly appreciated. I don’t expect to have to use it a lot but I think it would be nice to have one rather than not. thanks

2000 Magnum 4×4 oil cooling fan won’t shut off

Hello all,

I have a 2000 Magnum 4×4 that the oil cooler fan will not shut off. I have done some research and done some basic electrical testing using my fluke 87V meter. I have checked the resistance for the thermistor with it unplugged and got a reading of 1.307 k ohms. I have also checked it with key on engine not running and both yellow wires plugged in to the thermistor switch and got a reading of 312 k ohms. I contacted Polaris near my home and the shop foreman looked it up and at 77 degress f the resistance value should be 100 k ohms. I went to work and found a 100 k ohm resistor and tried plugging it in place of the thermistor and the fan still runs and light stays on. I also checked the ground coming out of the thermistor switch (with it unplugged) to frame ground and got an average reading of .2 ohms (which is to be expected I assume). I am completely lost with this problem. My neighbor has a 325 trail boss year model 2000 that is pretty well the same set up as mine. I guess I will try some testing on his unit since his works fine. Any help on this problem would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Fourtrax 300 4×4

ad the idea in my head for sometime to build a 4×4 quad with a 450 sport atv motor on it for the power and the option of a manual clutch I tossed around the idea of using a chain drivin 4×4 scrambler but I really want to use a fourtrax 300, any one have any ideas of how I could pull this off? Any options or ideas are taken into thought

thanks,
Cameron

Engine power cuts out at ~6300 and then drops, revs to 7000+ in neutral

Hey all, I’m running a 14 XP 1000 that I just bought/rebuilt from a rollover. One of the things that was failed when I purchased it was the voltage regulator. Since getting it back together I’ve put about two hours of time on it and it started losing power randomly. Now if I put the pedal down from a stop it will rev up to ~5800 to ~6300 and then slowly leech power till I have to stop again. If I "gently" accelerate and keep it under the ~6000 rpm mark, it seems fine but that doesn’t even get me to 40mph. Tried revving it up in Neutral and had no issues getting it to~7200. No CEL, any ideas?

Ordering switches and kind of confused with relays… Help!

Ok I so far I have a dome light, Totron 30" LED Light bar, and going to have 2- 3" cubes mounted top center of cage for backup lights. I’m getting ready to order switches and I’m kind of confused about relays. I see these "HELLA, ISO WEATHERPROOF RELAY" that look like a good fit for my application being there subject to moisture? I’m not 100% sure if for the little LED dome light I would need to use a relay or not and I’m assuming def need one for the LED Light bar and the LED 3" cubes? I’m still trying to research wiring these up as it’s been a very long time since I’ve used relays, but as I’m going I’m starting to remember everything.

HMF exhaust sound on a one thumper

Hey everybody,
I have wanted to make my bike sound unique for awhile now and have spent a lot of time scouring the web for videos of different exhaust systems. The 850’s really do sound sweet with an HMF and I love the new sound they get.
I am not looking for a noise maker, or that loud straight pipe sound that some pipes make. Just about everyone who puts an HMF on a 500 goes for the XL, so it’s even harder to know what the regular swap would sound like. If I do this I would get the regular swamp series and run the quiet core so nobody is bothered when I go out on trails. Has anybody heard one of these and can you say if the bike had a better grumble/rumble/deep tone to it, or was it just the raspy loud noise?

I have a 40mm pumper carb on my old 99 now, so she’s breathing like and HO now, and I’m curious if the pipe helps me gain a little power. If it doesn’t then who cares, I’m in this for the sound.

Hopefully someone can offer some experience. Thanks
