Just bought an 03 Recon 250 from a neighbor. Said he had a clean title, but no, he didn’t. Of course I find this out after the check cashed. The title has the original owner’s info on it when he bought it in 2003, and my neighbor’s grandad filled out the back in 2008, but he never bothered to get a new title.
Here’s what my local (Maryland) MVA said. Either I:
1. Contact the ORIGINAL buyer (again, who sold it 7 years ago) and get him to apply for a new title, then sign over to me, or
2. Get grandpa to go the MVA, pay 100 for the new title, then sign it over to me. Unlikely he’ll be willing.
I know I don’t NEED a title, but I like having it because if I ever need to liquidate vehicles it just makes it easier. Also, despite this annoyance, my neighbor is a good guy and weekend beer buddy. Any suggestions on how to get one on my own?
I have a 2005 Sportsman 700 EFI. Recently it has developed a fuel starvation problem. When cold it will run ok, but after maybe running for five to ten minutes it starves for gas and eventually will only idle or die altogether. Shut it off for a minute and it will run again with full throttle for a minute or two that go through the same problem. Could this be fuel filter or fuel pump?

Anyone of you get one of these. It sure doesn’t fit as good as they have before. Mine seems to rock back and forth when placed in the back. I have not installed the brackets to hold it down but seems odd
I have a 2004 Sportsman 400 that acts like it’s possessed. I bought it new from a dealer. It has 800 miles on it, sat for two years with gas treatment in it. I took it out this year and have had stalling, missing, power loss, etc. So I did the following
removed tank, blew out screen with air
new fuel filter
new gas lines, removed and blew out all others.
new fuel pump
new air filter
new air lines to air box
new air box gasket
rebuilt the carb. using a hanes manual
new spark plug wire and spark plug
adjusted valves
I brought it to a Polaris dealer, and a former Polaris dealer and the missing, stalling, power loss continues. Does anybody have an idea what else could be wrong like electronic issues?
New to this forum just bought an 07 ds250. Was thinking of getting the fpp clutch kit and 14 tooth sprocket any thoughts. I think my quad has had work done already everything I’ve read says it won’t spin tires factory have had it 3 week and already roasted a set of rear tires I can power brake it on asphalt and when I let off the brake it will ride a wheelie. Another thing any one have pics of shaved ds250.
