Ok so j just wanted to share some insight. I have a synthetic rope on my winch and put on one of those nice coverings that you can slide wherever to prevent fraying of the rope. Well I wanted to warn people these seem nice and probably are for dry conditions. I found that I ride in the mud and snow a lot. I found in the winter the snow would melt off radiator and freeze this sleeve. This would lock the winch up and respooling was impossible. I found the same thing happened in the mud. It would jam the winch up and become a nightmare. I am sure they work in dry conditions but wanted to warn others that they may have issues in the snow and mud. I found many times when I needed my winch it would be bound up or wouldn’t respool due to the sleeve. I finally cut the sleeve off after being screwed by this.
