OK, I’m a newbie and I recently got a 1989 FourTrax 300 (2wd). I just changed the oil and I want to drain the final drive and replace that oil simply because I don’t know how long it has been since that was done. So here is my stupid question: What tool do you use for the drain plug on the final drive. I cannot see the plug, but feeling it with my finger I don’t feel any corners like I would expect. It feels round. Is there a special tool? If not, what size socket should I use? I told you it was a stupid question. Thanks in advance!
Need some advice.* I have a 2014 and the power steering light came on and I have now power steeing.* Pulled the speed sensor and cleaned it.* Driven in low at
4000 rpm but it didn’t reset.
* I have put a new speed sensor on.* Checked relay and fuse. Pulled plugs to power steering unit and cleaned them.** No for the funny part.* My speedometer works but not getting milage on odometer/trip.
Trying to get the brakes working up to par on this 94 Trail Boss 250, two wheel drive. This my first time working on this type of brakes, yes newbie. If I may, I have several questions. First off, broke off the bleeder on the rear caliper. Moved to the front brakes. Lubricated the bleeder , left it sit awhile. Went to open it, no way would it move. First off, was it a true bleeder valve, or something else. ??
Are the bleeders screwed in or pressed into body of caliper?
Two front caliper has the same fitting. Again, lubed them, still did not budge.
Using a 1/4" wrench for removal. Read repair manual, it said nothing about how to open bleeder. What direction to open, counterclockwise, I would assume. Any insight would be great.
thanks
Just took a RZR 1000 and a 700cc Arctic Cat for test drives in Northern Michigan. They are a HOOT. I’m 56 yo and will be using it on two-tracks and woods in NW Michigan. Nothing too crazy or super fast.
Looking for informed opinions on what I should buy;
– RZR 900 or 1000? And I only need 2 seats.
– Explain the width issue re. legality of riding on shoulder of State/County roads and public trail use.
– Also, please discuss reliability of Polaris RZR’s and extended warrenty plans.
– are SxS’s any good in snow?
I have been working on a fix for our diff’s still. Here is where I am with this.—***I need someone to ship me their 2015 plastis sprague carrier (Not Broken) I have a company that has made them in the past for the 900 . They are going to make them for all of us @ $149 each out of 7075 Billet Aluminum and hard anodised black too . They are ready to move on this for me.Everyone that wants one speak up and get me a good stock 2015 so we all can have a strong front diff carrier for $149 and Show Polaris we won’t buy there $699 upgrade and the one from Chris Kolb for $225 is priced to high too and does not use the roller springs. Hilliard (Must) of put them there for a reason!
***
My Goal is to offer all of us stuck with a weak Plastic sprague carrier in our 2015 XP’s the strongest carrier made BUT at a fair price so it takes the hurt out of the upgrade!
WHO wants one made right that uses the spring clips at a fair price?
Anyone else have a noise around 4500 rpm? It sounds to me like an exhaust shield, but it doesn’t do it just revving up in neutral. It doesn’t get worse the faster you go. In fact it pretty much goes away when you floor it. I don’t want to ignore it if it’s more serious problem.
