Shock nitrogen canister position question

Here is a good question. I have installed the HL snorkel kit on my 14 XP 1000 and the drivers side rear nitrogen canister must be relocated. Does it matter what position it is in? Can it be upside down….as this is the best position I can find to keep it out of trouble.

thx

My dog is better than your dog !

Remember that old school commercial jingle , reading some threads makes me think of it ——— last night was bike night at the local bar which has (had) one hell of a business going on Wednesday nights , found out that it got shut down permanently , seems I miss a good brawl , Rolex riders verses bike gang ———— biking is a lot like fishing , some do a lot more bragging then catching , I get a kick out of the weekend warriors at the boat launch , wearing color coordinated clothes to match their boats , that have GPS auto steering tied into the trolling motor so they can work that same old , only spot they know over and over , dual power poles , hot foot throttle hooked to 300 hp engines on 18 ft boats with 6 inches of free board , burn 50 gallons of fuel , have a hundred grand into their boats and wardrobe , then come in with one or two fish ————- guess it is like a game of pool , it you can’t shoot a good game then talk one ———– I know it ain’t going to happen but it would be nice if the 420 guys could get along with the 300 guys , we all share a similar passion for ATV’s , but I guess it is just human nature to want to be Top Dog !

Mud and trouble

Well I have been on atvs my entire life I always enjoyed going in the mud. I have had a rzr s for 2 years now and I have went through all kinds of mud. Until recently I have had a blast doing it. This last time I buried the machine in a deep solid clay hole. I have now spent 7 hours cleaning the machine. I have spent more time removing the skid plate and cleaning underneath. And I have noticed a trend of issues. The machine has always had full skids but the bottom is starting to rust I am sure from the constant soaking of wet mud. I noticed my rear brake pads wore out because the calipers were so full of mud they must have been dragging the whole way home because they wore at an angle like the caliper stuck. I have replaced all the bushings twice. All the wheel bearings twice. Ball joints. I’ve rod ends. Broken axles. I know this stuff happens but I feel a trend of severe wear coinciding with me doing heavy mudding vs just trail riding. Now I am not sure if any of u ever feel like is t worth it to keep mudding. That’s how I feel I have a 8 month old so time and money are very limited and I feel most my time is spent cleaning or repairing the machine. I have spent probably 10 hours cleaning and repairing machine this last time to the 1.5 hours I rode not a very good ratio. Just kind of venting because I am sad to think about not mudding but j am feeling like I have to so I can still enjoy the sport

Too good of a deal to pass up, or?

We’re still trying to figure out if we’re going to buy a RZR and a 900 S is what I was looking at, but then my buddy calls and tells me a guy on his job site has a ’14 1K with skid plates, bumpers, roof, nerf bars (or maybe rock rails) that he’ll let go for $15k. It’s only got around 300 miles and 35 hours on it. It’s in good shape, and he’s only selling it to buy a 4 seater.

Here’s the bitch of it. A few weeks ago I needed a trailer for an upcoming ATV ride and couldn’t get the 77 x 12′ PJ that I wanted, so, in a pinch I bought a Maxey ATV trailer. The floor is 61.5" by 10 ft., but the rails angle up to 6.5 ft wide. I could fit a 900 S on it, but I would have to modify or sell it if I bought the 1k. Since it’s new with only one 200 mile trip on it I’m thinking the depreciation loss would offset the great price on the 1K.

So, is that too good of a deal to pass up? Around my area there’s quite a few for around $16,500 and up with more hours / miles, so it seems to be, but I don’t know how much wiggle room there is in those prices. Granted, I also wonder if I should just buy a 900 S from Polaris of Benton, stick a few upgrades on it, have less money in it, and know that it should work with my trailer.

Question? Still fun if you’ve spent years in 4×4 vehicles?

Just curious how many came from spending years off-roading 4×4 trucks / Jeeps and then bought a RZR? I’m worried we’ll get bored with one pretty quick as we’ve spent the last 10 years going to Moab and Colorado, twice a year, in our Jeeps and we’re getting a little bored.

I ask because we finally got a chance to demo a 900S, at an off-road park, and we left underwhelmed. Following a trail of people, for 20 minutes, on an extremely dusty, mostly flat trail, with one long downhill section only left us covered in dirt and wishing for more.

But, I have to wonder if I wasn’t blown away because my daily is a ’14 Mustang GT, so I’m used to power, and with so many years of tearing up Moab and CO trails, (now in an Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon on 35’s), the puny demo trail just wasn’t enough to pull me out of the ‘this is way too much like our Jeep without the doors and top’ mindset?

I’m afraid we’ll buy one and then get bored a month later because we’ve done so much off-roading already.

I want to rent a 900S in WV, to do some of the Hatfield McCoy trails, but so far I haven’t found any place that rents them.

Thanks for any advice
