First Ride…..Finally!

Finally got the new RZR out of the garage for our first ride today!:yahoo: You still couldnt knock the smile off my face with a 2×4!!! 🙂
I have been adding new stuff and making changes since the day we got it home 8 weeks ago or so, but have not driven it more than few hundred feet or so backing in and out of garage until today.
I just wanted to get a few miles on it to get the first service done so it was just a few hour trip. Adjusted the shocks along the way. The ride was AMAZING compared to the atv’s we used to have.
I used this as a break in for the new Gates belt also took it to the dealer on the way home with a total of 70 miles on the machine. They changed fluid in front and rear diff, changed oil & filter and inspected the rest. Everything looked good. This was my idea to have it done this early, not the dealers, it’s just how I am 🙂 The next trip we will be putting on more miles as its a 3 day trip and I wanted all the fluids changed prior to this.
This is our first side x side after 2 previous atv’s and I was somewhat nervous after reading about some of the problems people have been having with their new machines. I am happy to say there were no vibrations, strange noises or anything that caused me any concern. We were both kind of worried that after spending so much money on the machine that we would not be happy with something, but we were both thrilled!
My wife and I were bummed when we got back and wished we could have gone more, but were pressed for time to drive to the dealer and the 2 hour trip home. It was not the most exciting trail system, just the closest that would allow me to get some miles on, but we still had fun.
I still have a few more things to change and add before our next trip June, but it’s getting there. I will make a separate post in a week or so with pictures of the new machine and mods.

ANNOUNCEMENT: Ricochet U.H.M.W. is here!

UHMW! YOU ASKED. WE LISTENED!

Ricochet Offroad is now offering 1/2" UHMW protection.

UHMW has been being used for skid plates with great results. Ricochet has been studying these results, listening to owners, and engineering the perfect UHMW system. Sure, we could of just put out what others already have, but Ricochet don’t operate like that. We put a lot of time into research, development, and vigorous testing (the fun part).

We are very proud to introduce our new UHMW options. UHMW allows your machine to glide over obstacles with much less resistance and sound.

Many people already know about our customization options with our aluminum. We set ourselves apart from the competition by offering what they don’t. First of all…NO DRILLING REQUIRED! The new Ricochet Offroad UHMW line is laser cut. Also, our manufacturing process allows us to heat form the UHMW. While other companies rely on a rather big main skid, we build a more modular system with more pieces. This makes for an easier install and a much more flexible system. While full protections is the best, our more modular system allows our customers to get key pieces as they want, need, or as budgets allow.

With over 30 years of engineering experience combined with the mind of an off-road enthusiast, Ricochet continues to offer products that are innovative and designed for the highest level of reliability. Buying from Ricochet means you not only get quality, you get style too. Every single design comes with the assurance that it reflects a responsiveness to the diverse needs of riders and also a responsiveness to customer feedback.

Our customers are like family. We go that extra mile so you will never have to second guess your purchase with us. Once you make that first Ricochet purchase, you too are part of the Ricochet family.

Visit us at RicochetOffroad.com when you are ready to armor up.

Thank you for your time and all of the great reviews!

Sincerely,

clutch kit/low gear

ok guys I’m hoping for a bunch of different inputs on this one.
first off at my house we have a lot of bumpy trails and tight turns so I’m not flying around in the trials.. with that being said i know people have told me to stay in low when riding like that. but how fast should you be in low? and is the really high RPM’s a problem? I’m not used to riding in low so it kind of makes me worried with the high RPM’s
also what will a new clutch do for me? suggestions please

thanks again like always guys
