Coming Soon: Even More Bling!

First of all, thanks for stopping by our Sponsor forum here at the Polaris ATV Forums.

Our 3/16" aluminum not only offers the protection our customers rely on, we offer the bling too. We offer color anodizing on whole sets or just certain pieces. We have started to bring 1/2" UHMW to our line up and will have it available for your ATV (and even more machines) in the coming months.

Now, I will drop the kicker.

Soon, we will be offering custom laser cutting to some of our parts. You will be able to design your text or even a logo right on our site and it will be laser cut into certain parts. You heard it hear first!

The reviews already do and will continue to speak for themselves. We got the serious bling factor that is about to make a big leap even further ahead. People who run our skids already know that our products protect their investment very well.

Again. Thank you for stopping by.

Sincerely,

Exhaust Spring – Fire Hazard

Well, after noticing that my exhaust tends to get red hot with any riding over 30 MPH, I had another issue occur this weekend that almost resulted in a fire. It appears that the top spring that holds the exhaust to the head pipe gave out at some point during the ride (I’m guessing because of the excessive heat). We were riding only fire roads – no rough trails or anything. I didn’t notice the exhaust issue until it was almost too late. I noticed a "whooshing" sound coming from the engine going up hills or under load, but didn’t think much of it. Turns out that was from the exhaust being separated from the head pipe because there was now a missing spring. I was then riding on a flat fire road, and started feeling a LOT of heat on the exhaust side of the wheeler. I slowed down/stopped to investigate, and was immediately hit with a burning plastic smell. Looked down to see the plastics smoldering/dripping. A tiny fire had started. I got a towel and took my drinking water and wet the towel down and smothered the flames. Needless to say, I’ll now be carrying a fire extinguisher with me at all times on this quad… I’ll be dropping it off this evening and seeing what the dealer can do for me. It’s still under warranty. 260 miles or so, and around 16 hours.

2015 fox edition seat belt sensor???

Gonna put harnesses in my fox edition. Does it have a seat belt sensor? It runs fine without being buckled now. But don’t want to be out on trail and it decides to limit my speed. Don’t see any wires or anything for the stock harnesses

92 Trail Boss 250 4×4 Fuel and Oil *Newb Alert*

*Cross posted in Fuel/Oil Section* (Didn’t get any replies there)

First time 2 stroke owner. Haven’t had a quad in 12 years. Purchased this two days ago on a whim after seeing it for sale on the side of the road. It’s in really nice shape. Sorted some carb issues with a good cleaning.

  1. Do you have to mix anything with gas? (Didn’t think you did, but saw another forum post where someone mentioned 32:1 so was confused)
  2. The Oil tank has been at the same level (topped right off) for about 20-30 minutes of run time so far. Didn’t know how quickly it would be used.
  3. Engine seems to be making a loud metal on metal noise, though it seems as though it’s running fine, and has good power (I’m 345 lbs and it rips up dirt big time with me on it). Is this normal?
  4. Starter just clicks with what seems like a good (neighbor gave to me) battery. Should I run jumpers from my car to make sure and would this be starter or a solenoid that needs replacing?

This is my first list of need to knows. But if someone wanted to share how the heck you get at the spark plug, I’d like to stop scratching my head over that one.

inner rear axle joint

Went riding last weekend and broke the right rear inner joint on the axle the parts that I need are the cup that goes on to the gear case, the knuckle that goes on the shaft and the shell that holds the bearings on the knuckle does anyone know the part numbers to any of these or the actual name of the parts also can I buy them separate or does it come as a kit??
