couple of questions about 570 touring

I recently picked up 2 570 tourings. I had a few questions. one was there are n running lights on the back of either. I am assuming the are supposed to be on all the time while riding then brake lights come on, correct? also I am thinking of taking off the back seatrest on one and jut riding it as a single. I am ok with the seat but if you take away the whole bracket for the rear then you have no grommet holes for the main seat to hook into. has anyone come up with a good latch system for the main seat to stay down or on better? maybe a latch on the back part of the seat. also are there any better latches for the front plastic storage? seems like they don’t stay latched all that well. any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks!!

02 700 Sporty Battery icon Flashing

So I was having problems with the starter drive and with the battery being original I decided to change them both out. I picked up this wheeler for $600 last December and had what appeared to be a head gasket problem. Head gasket thread

I got the drive gear in and the new battery but I am still getting the battery icon flashing. When I start it and let it idle it is fine, but when drive it or rev it the icon and speedo needle flashes. Did I do something wrong? Did I miss something?

2002 grizz 660 mid range sputter or cough

My grizz has been having an on going issue where it had the valves adjust before I purchased it along with the carb cleaned. Once I got it I fixed a few other issues before actually riding it. Once I could ride it the bike seems to have a cough or tremble thru the intake. It never dies just feels like a miss then continues just fine. Idles fine and has a ton of power when u hit it. I have changed out the plug. Which indicated normal wear. I cleaned carb myself. Now the choke cable pluger cap or piece that screws into carb is broke. But I do have part to fix. The pit cock and tank are clean and has an inline fuel filter which is clean as well. Bike is stock as stock can be. Anymore ideas guys… Please

Deestone D933 vs. Kenda Bear Claw?

Anyone know much about the "Deestone D933" ATV tires? They look very similar to the original Kenda Bear Claws, but don’t know much else about them…. I found what looks like a heck of a deal online for these from a Minnesota retailer in the sizes of 25×8-12 (front) and 25×10-12 (rear)… a full brand new set for just $266.00 + sales tax. Thinking they’d make a great set of "spares" to put on the spare set of new take off steel rims I picked up this week for only $40.

What do you folks know or think… as I can’t find much about them online. I would really like to know the # ply and bias or radial construction.

Tires

First ride with 2016 rancher, after sitting for a week it has 2 flat tires.
Found a honey locust thorn in the front, plugged it and went flat again. Should I just by a new stock tire or are they junk. Haven’t looked for the rear flat, same side so probable thorn.

2008 Outlander 500 Loss of Power

Hey guys I need some help. I have a 2008 Outlander 500XT (the wife’s ride) that is like brand new……..it has right at 30hrs on it and less than 300 miles; I’m the original owner. It has never been mudded and always stored in my shop, never sits out. This thing looks like it did when we brought it home.

About 3 weeks ago we took them out. Went to my deer lease and rode around for the day, mainly gravel roads and a few trails; she goes around most of the mud holes. HaHa I always rinse them off before heading home so they’re not so hard to clean up.

The next morning I backed them out to clean them up right……..it had been a while for mine especially. I always spray them down with a couple cans of “Gunk” each and then pressure-wash them off. Didn’t run them anymore than what it took to pull them back in the shop.

Her’s has sat there since……until this last weekend she wanted to ride down the road and pick some blackberries. For starters the battery was dead, which I thought was weird since it’s a pretty new battery. Put it on the charger and the battery charged right up. Fired it up and pulled it out for her when I noticed it felt like it had no power. So I drove it down the street and it’s like the brakes were on. I could not get it above 27mph or ~5200rpm and it took forever to get that and if you pulled any kind of a hill it really struggled.

I first suspected it was in some sort of “limp mode”. I checked the engine codes and it shows no active “P” codes. I pulled the air-filter and it looked good. I pulled the plugs and they looked fine too. Put it in neutral and it roles fine so it’s not bound up anywhere. I loosened the gas cap to make sure a vent hose was not clogged and that didn’t seem to help anything either.

I’m stumped. It starts right up and will sit there and purr like it should for as long as you want it to, so I don’t think it the fuel. But if you try to rev it up while in neutral, you know something is not right because it has a very slow throttle response. It doesn’t spit and sputter, it just feels extremely sluggish. As an example, you can hammer the throttle (WOT) and it won’t even turn the gravel over……just slowly starts to go and within a couple hundred yards you may be up to 27mph.

Any help would be very appreciated.
