I took apart my primary sliding/fixed sheave and found some issues. I read the service manual and it does not give any specific detail about checking the belt area or cam for wear. Take into consideration I have been researching this for like a week and can not find any definitive answers as well this is my first quad.
1-The surface the belt rides on has a 1mm gap which is even all across if I put a straight edge on it. Is the enough wear to warrant replacing?
2- The cam has shiny spots and what feels to be a small amount of wear at the end of the ramp. Is this enough wear to warrant replacing?
3- The plastic cover over the weights is a little loose. Worn?
I looked around online could not find much information on the charging system spec’s on the XMR 1000 .
I’m looking to add some accessories and don’t want to over load , I would think they would have a high output stator since the machines have a factory winch .
Thanks
Hey guys, I just got a 95 TRX300 2WD and spent the last week working on it getting it ready to ride. Last night I got on with my wife and the rear fender almost touches the rear wheels. Now I’m a big boy (6’3" 270lbs) and my wife isn’t tiny either so I pulled the shock and noticed there is no adjustment for ride height, preload, etc. so I looked online and found there is a progressive type shock I can get that adjusts http://www.ebay.com/itm/1993-2000-Ho…VVjEPx&vxp=mtr
So my question is will this shock provide the desired adjustment for ride height to keep us off the back wheels? Or should I look at a more expensive 512 series shock?
Hey guys, I recently purchased a 1995 Honda TRX300 Fourtrax 2WD. As everyone has stated, the engine is bulletproof. I’ve spent the last week or so getting it ready to ride. Happy to be here and a part of your great community!

Hey guys bought myself a 2006 Grizzly 660 last month. I’m from British Columbia and I’m a red seal sheet metal worker I have a wife two daughters and a dog. I’ve been browsing these forums for a few weeks now trying to get info on the primary sheave and how to tell if it worn.

Just curious. What page do you have bookmarked or jump to when you log on to GC?
Since my browser is Opera I have a speed dial set to the "Active Topics" page.
