420 mods

Hello fellas I’m brand new here, considering I’m fresh out of the canam world. My next project is gonna be a 2014 Honda 420 it’s already got 30 inch silverbacks and 14 hd3s, snorkels and pipe, I’ve been looking at some some more stuff. Definitely going to put a wild boar relocator on it. But as far as clutch kits, gear reductions, and bigboar kits, I’m lost. So could you tell me what you guys did as for as those three upgrades so I can get the most bang for my buck

Outlander gearbox output shaft

Hey folks

Just had all new bearings put in my gearbox, and when I got it back the driveshaft and only go halfway up the splines on the output shaft. There is a distance ring there stopping it.

My question is, is the distance ring supposed to be on the inside of the oil seal rather than outside? Or can it slide though? I’m boggled.

Hello Grizzly owners. I have been checking out this forum for a couple of weeks after buying my Grizzly. I like what I see so I just signed up. It seems this forum is full of good people. I belong to another for my Can Am Maverick and although it has good people too, there seems to be many smart a$$ people. I have not seen that on here. So, thanks for having me and I look forward to reading all the information you all put out here and adding where I can. I just bought my first Yamaha last week. It’s a used 07 660 with only 475 miles. I got it from a friend that also had a Bruin 350 that he bought from my brother. He always though the 660 had too much juice for him so he didn’t ride it much. It’s a beauty for an 07. Both of my brothers have had Grizzly’s and loved them. I was a Polaris guy, but always admired the Yamaha. Such a better ride on the Yamaha. Anyway, I am looking forward to being part of this community of dirt folks. Thanks for having me.

2002 honda recon wont idle….help please

I am currently working on a 2002 Honda Recon ES 2×4 this four wheeler is carbureted I just put a brand new carburetor on the four wheeler that came straight from Honda preset and pre adjusted new fuel line new fuel filter also new air filter and new spark plug. Now for the problem when you go to crank the 4-wheeler you have to use the choke once it runs the only way that it will stay running is if you keep giving it gas on the throttle after you cut the choke off if you try using the idle adjustment screw if you go in to far it will run but hits 3000 RPMs without giving it throttle if you back off of the idle adjustment screw and let off the gas it slowly dies out then when you crank it sometimes you have to rechoke it again. So now I’m down to three options. Option 1 bad gas. Option 2 valve’s need adjustment. Option 3 not getting enough fire….. If you have any other suggestions on what may be wrong please help

1.5 in wheel spacers

I"m new to all the adding and fixing up on these things did a search for wheel spacers and seen several mention its stress on the bearings.

I’m not into the high performance world of ATVs its at 450 that will be used for yard work, getting the GF back to the trailer at the track and Hunting. Doubt I’ll ever run it over 30 mph 99% of the time.
I understand its will add some stress but are we talking a right good while before you start to see issues or is this something that is going to be quick.
Ordered fender flairs and thought moving those tires out 1.5 inchs would make a lot of difference in being stable. ?
Doubt I will will change the tires for a right good while.
Rather ask on here, I can see you guys know your stuff.

2007 450 Rear Diff Issue

Went to drain the rear diff on a 450 that has been sitting for awhile. No fluid to drain only a few globs of what looks like grease. When I go yo fill with fresh gear oil it just drains right back out no matter how slow I try to fill. The front diff was no problem. Any suggestions? Could something internal be out clocking the fill hole? The rear end turns fine and I can move the bike around. Just the squeaking noise from lack of fluid. Any help is appreciated. 🙂
