Hello all. I will be going to look at a 2004 Polaris Sportsman 700 next week. I know absolutely nothing about them. The owner said it is all original and has about 2500 miles and 300 hours. Said his father in law only used it for hunting. It looks to be in AMAZING shape for the year. Is there anything I should look for on it? What are some common issues with these? Is it carbed still? How is the power? I know it has 4wd but does it have diff lock? These are not deal breakers by any means. I’m just looking to get out of the sport quad scene and into the 4×4 world. Getting too old to be blasting through the woods anymore lol. Here are some pictures he sent me of it…
Hello, need new bearings for 2007 sportsman 500 efi deluxe.
When I look at polaris.com part finder it does not list deluxe model, also checked all balls racing and it also does not list deluxe
Then I found allballs 25-1150 (rear kit) on amazon, says it will fit sportsman 500 efi, but Says wrong fit for deluxe.
When I go to my local independant repair shop, he has same problem finding parts list for deluxe model

so we just bought a project/fixer upper…a 96 xpress 400L. it’s a pretty solid bike but there were a few issues, most of which i’ve completed. i’ve done some research on here about bubbling into the coolant overflow when it’s running, and i’ve seen answers ranging from new radiator cap, to "that’s normal in hot conditions"…i thought head gasket/or needs top end work, but i did a compression test and it was 113psi, and it calls for 115. it’s smoking white off and on, which also tells me coolant into combustion chamber. i guess the liquid cooled 2 strokes are pretty new to me. always had air foolers..but could it just be the head gasket?? seeing as how compression is still almost spec, but i’m getting coolant into the cylinder? still cranks first or second pull every time and will run great until it gets hot. (need new electric fan motor)
