2002 grizzly 660 problems problems problems help please

I’m new to the forum but maybe some of the experienced grizzly owners on here know a thing or two about them. Now with that being said this is my first grizzly. I had a raptor 660 with seems to be the basic same motor but that’s neither here nor there with my issues. So I just picked this thing up on a hell of a deal, only kicker was its not running. So of course I buy yet another project. Story goes like this. It stopped working for unknown reasons I assume on previous owner so he changed the piston cam and starter and plug on it. Then sold it to me. When I went to pick it up he said he might have his timing 180 degrees off, but with a one cylinder engine it has two sparks so does it really matter? Now what I’ve done so far is put a new battery and solenoid on it. Cleaned the carb and gas tank and adjusted the valves back to spec. Which if I’m not mistaken are .10mm to 0.15mm on intake(I used a 0.102mm feeler) and 0.15mm to 0.20mm on exhaust(I used a 0.178mm feeler). Hook everything back up and now the carb dumps gas out of the drain port on the bottom on the bowl(the drain screw is tightened completely) and the top right hand port right under the diaphragm. On my raptor the port under the diaphragm is used to bolt the two carbs together so I don’t know why I have gas coming out, anyway I tried to start it and if you picture an oval rolling down a hill that’s how it sounds. Turns fast then stops then turns then stops. Battery is brand new and is reading 12.7 to 12.8v. Basically I can spin the one way with my hand until the intake valves are almost all the way seated then i can’t turn it with my hand anymore and have to use a chain wrench (that’s what I call it). Then frees up afterwards until the intake is back down. Now another kicker, if I take the spark plug out the engine turns like it’s supposed to. Put the plug in and it does this crap. I have good spark. Checked it on the frame. Havent done a compression test yet, but need to. This is also my first automatic. Any who any suggestions? Or advice? Anything will help. Thank you!

WTB carburetor 400EX

Hi. I’ve come to the end of my rope with the carb currently on my EX. Have tried every possible jet/clip/setting. Can’t get rid of the bog off idle, and the hanging revs when the throttle is let off.
Looking for a replacement if anyone has one laying around
Thanks

Best plow choice??

I have a base model 2016 570. I live in Indiana and we don’t typically get a ton of snow. I do have a gravel drive that is about 600 foot and is mainly straight with a slight S curve in the middle. Some have said I need a 60 inch to be wider then the tires. Some say the 60 inch is too big/heavy. Some have said get a Polly blade not steel. I already have a winch so I will need plow and mounts to bolt up. I have a snow blower I currently use and I set the shoes at about 3 inches so I am not throwing gravel. I would do the same with a plow. I don’t need it cleaned down to the gravel, just enough so we can get the cars out. Looking for recommendations.

It is official!

OK, it is official. DO NOT BUY BRONCO SHOCKS!!! I bought some just to see what they would do and let me tell you they worked great for about 153 miles before the both blew up. Oil everywhere. Man my 2012 450 Grizzly was like on a rail up on those rough trails. After, it was a little crazy getting it back down to the roads in Wallace, Idaho last week. Just for shits and giggles I did take the old ones with me so I could keep riding. Though you might like to know so you won’t waste your money.

Another new member with purchase question/concerns

Alright guys I know these threads get old sometimes but I need a little advice.

I’m in the market for a new 4wheeler currently and keep coming back to the Grizzly 700. It will be used primarily for hunting and some trail riding. I’ve looked at literally every make and model and simply can not pull the trigger on the yamaha because I have no experience with them for comparison reasons. So far ive narrowed the field down to the Honda Rubicon eps foot shift, Grizzly 700 eps, and Polaris 850sp. Both Honda and Yamaha have the reliability thing going for them. Polaris is going to be more maintenance obviously but it’s a tradeoff. Only mods I want would be basic things like wheels, tires, winch, bumpers, etc.

Honda first off. They have the least power, quite frankly years behind on technology but they are tough as nails. Last one I owned rode like crap and left me hurting after a full day of work. Plus I was trying to get a deer out of a creek once and the motor didn’t have enough power to bring me and the deer up the bank. Just bogged down and wouldn’t go anywhere.

Yamaha. Has a great reliable reputation. Has some mixed reviews on rideability and comfort for all day runs. Most intriguing of the three.

Polaris. Some reliability concerns. Known for having one of the best rides in the industry and also has the most HP out of the trio.

I’m coming off a Can Am XMR 1000 that quite frankly was a horrible choice for hunting. Before that was a Ranger 900, a Foreman 500 and Foreman 450. I want something reliable, plenty of power for 27" tires that doesn’t bog down under load, and that doesn’t kill me after 8hrs on the saddle. Speed isn’t an issue as I rarely see anything past 20mph. Terrain varies from hardpack, basic trails and a little mud.

What yall think?

Hey guys. Just joined because I’m looking seriously into getting a new Grizzly 700 within the next week. Been lurking and searching for a while on Google but finally decided to go ahead and join up. Hopefully I’ll find the answers I’m looking for before making the purchase.

fan switch

Anyone rewired their rad fan with a hand off auto switch. I’d like to be able to shut it off so it doesn’t come on going through water and bugger it all up again. I’d like to be able to shut it off completely or have it come on automatically off the temp sensor. Anyone done this any help would be great. Rather not replace entire fan assembly more than once. 2014 scrambler 1000. Thanks.

07 Sportsman 500 EFI Dash

Dash cluster component not working on my newly acquired 2007 Sportsman 500 H.O. EFI. Other than speed, fuel level, and hours does this thing do anything else? Machine running fine but wasn’t sure if any other important functionality? Also these things are expensive at $339! Any aftermarket suggestions?
