took on water from somewhere?

Hey guys, went riding yesterday all day. At the end of the ride, we went bogging. I have mine snorkle with the brp snorkle. After going through a hole a couple times, I came out and the quad felt sluggish and then died. The water came up to just under the seat so it never came close to the snorkle. My butt didn’t even get wet….
we towed it back, I clean off and unscrew the dip stick to find it filled to the top with water!
Anyone know where it could have came from?

Thanks for the help!

Running rough past idle

Took my bike out last week and ran into some problems after a couple of hours. Was going through some slop- nothing deep, maybe 3", and when I came out of it any throttle more than about 10% resulted in the bike bogging down sounding like it was trying to flood out. Long story short I have cleaned the carb and rebuilt it as well as replacing the spark plug with no results.
One additional note is that I used SeaFoam for the first time in the bike- my initial thought was that something broke free and clogged the carb. Any ideas where to check next or do all signs point carb?

1993 Polaris Trail Boss 250 4X4 Electric Start Issues HELP Please.

I have a 1993 Polaris Trail Boss 250 that I have been rebuilding from frame up. I’m pretty well complete, but have one nagging issue. Electric Start. Its a long story, so I will start at the front.

I bought the bike, and the owner told me it needed a battery and a solenoid. He was right No DOUBT. He had been running the atv without a battery at all for quite some time, which I know can damage things, but I still took the risk. The solenoid was only half there, looked as they broke one of the studs off and said screw it. Since there was no battery, there was no positive cable. On my rebuild, I replaced all of it. Fresh brand new battery, fully charged, brand new positive cable, brand new solenoid, and all wire connectors. Put it all back together, and rolled it outside.

Turn the key on for the first time since my rebuild so I’m checking all the lighting and such to see that it works. Headlights, dashlights, taillights all work fine. the 4X4 light on the demand button on right side of handlebars works. So Im getting power everywhere. I hit the start button and hear a big CLICK on the solenoid. Thats all it does everytime the start button is pushed. Just Click. Starter does nothing.

So i get out a tester and start testing wiring to make sure im carrying power everywhere, And I am. Im getting power from one end of the wires and cables (at battery and solenoid) all the way to the other end. I tested all wires. Its even showing I am getting power to the starter when the start button is pushed.

Next I pull the starter. Well when I took the pull start case off to get to the other two bolts for the starter, a bigg rush of gas and oil come out. Crank seals bad. So I replace those, clean everything all up with contact cleaner, and then I start to look at the starter. Its full of gas and oil. So I first take some jumper cables and hook to the truck battery and try to roll the starter that way. Does Not Work. Tore the starter apart and cleaned it with contact cleaner, let it dry and put it back together. Tried the truck battery trick again and BAM it works. Starter is rolling. So im thinking Im in good shape.

Put it all back together, and still…. CLICK. At this point I Sliced open the little rubber pouch just up from the solenoid and checked the fuse block and its ok.

IM STUMPED. I HAVE POWER EVERYWHERE FOR LIGHTS, THE IGNITION SYSTEM AND ALL HANDLEBAR CONTROL BUTTONS WORK. YOU CAN CRANK START IT AND RUN THE BIKE ALL DAY LONG. IS IT POSSIBLE I HAVE A BAD SOLENOID, OR SHOULD I REPLACE THE STARTER ANYWAYS, OR IS THERE SOMETHING ELSE I AM MISSING? ANY HELP IS GREATLY APPRECIATED.

660 front upper A-arm replaceable ball joint quest

I’m sure this has been beaten to death but my search function isn’t working right now. I want what all us 660 riders want, replaceable upper ball joints. So from all y’all I need some questions answered.
1- Do the upper and lower ball joint have same taper through the knuckle? (Will lower ball joint physically bolt into upper knuckle position?)
2-I need dimensions of the 700 upper a arm to see if they’re modify-able to fit on 660. (This would depend on ball joint taper of course)
3- does anyone currently make aftermarket arms with replaceable joints? If not, why the F not!?
I am very capable of fabricating an modifying these arms, I just need some info without tearing mine apart just yet. (Mine are tight still but want to have a solution before I need to buy whole upper a arm.
Cheers from East Coast Canada. Justin

1999 Scrambler 500 issue

I have a 1999 Scrambler 500HO 4×4. It starts right up everytime and runs great most of the time. Occasionally while riding it will start bogging and eventually die. I can let it sit for a few minutes and it will start back up and run maybe for the rest of the day or maybe only a few minutes. If I ride for 3 or 4 hours it may do it 2 or 3 times. It acts like it stops getting fuel. I have replaced the fuel filter. Just wondering if anyone else has had similar issues and if so, what they did to fix it?

New 570 WTH!!!

Just looked over the new 570, the engine seems really nice but the front end looks really cheap. All that plastic, the lid to the storage box is real flimsy, a stick would have no problem going through the plastic grill right into the radiator and if you hit a rock just right it looks like the whole front would be destroyed, plastic and frame. The protection in front is horrible and the axles are even smaller, my 06 500 has 7/8in axles and the 570s are 3/4in. My 500 is a tank compared to the new ones.

What tires is everyone liking for the rancher?

I’m gonna upgrade the stock tires at some point but don’t want to spring for new wheels. The selection of tires is limited in the stock size so I was thinking about ITP Mudlite AT’s unless there is something better out there. I will be trail riding and working around my property with the quad so I don’t need a really wild mud tires. I got the mud riding out of my system when I was younger lol.
