I have a 2014 1000 2 seater and im heading to the dunes this weekend. I have taken my chances in the past on not having a spare belt but this is a longer trip and Id hate to ruin a weekend if I blow a belt. What is everyone having the best luck with? hate to spend the money on the Polaris belt but also don’t want to a buy a junk belt. any input would be great thanks!!
Hi guys, I just picked up a 1998 grizzly 600 today! It is awesome but the rear tires and rims are definately not the right setup. I have figured out that the factory tire size is 25x10x10, but i am having trouble figuring out what the offset of wheel i need is. Its a solid rear axle atv and the rims that are on it are more like what a front stock tire would be, so the tires are inset so far that the tire rubs on the exhaust and they just look weird. Can you guys help me figure out what offset wheel i need to order? Would a 12" rim be best to order with say a 3-5 offset? What is the stock rim offset on SRA atvs usually? Thanks in advance!!
I searched this section and a few others before I found the harness part numbers that would make the whole system work plug and play on my 2015 Sportsman 1000 xp. The Polaris wiring harness part number I found to use the stock polaris LED headlights was 2878624, that was just for the harness. It basically plugs into your stock wiring with no cutting or splicing of wires. I have full function of the high and low beam lights in the LED’s through the stock handle bar light switch. Super simple install. One end of the harness plugs into one of your stock low beam wires and another end goes up to your headlight on your handle bars to tap the high beam. It comes with a double connector plug to go in line of your light.
The headlights mount in the stock location to tabs already molded in the plastic with 3 screws and a spring between the headlight and plastic.
If anyone needs pictures or has questions post up and I’ll do my best to answer them. I bought the lights new from my dealer that were for a 2014 850 xp with eps part number 2878542. The harness I found on amazon but I’ve seen them on ebay too which again was part number 2878624
Edit for prices: the harness I got off Amazon was 49.99 and I bought my lights from the dealer they were I believe 449.99. You could save a lot of money on the lights with some used take offs on someones RZR or Scrammbler from what I read. I wanted new parts though cause i’m picky.
Also a note: You do not cut or damage the stock light harness in any way so it is totally possible to put it back to the stock housings and wiring if you desired. I was really happy with the light output of the LED’s and one HID bulb in the stock handle bar light. I mainly wanted the LED’s because I feel the HID’s can be unreliable and they are instant on and off vs HID’s

At 1550 miles I had warranty replace top end on rzr due to burning oil, while at it I had them put in JaggedX cams and valve springs. Got rzr back and ran great, 400 miles later at dumont it stopped reving pass 7500 rpms. Pulled clutch cover and realized rollers were flat and wore grooves in sliders on secondary, also primary was a lil sloppy. Replaced with brand new OEM clutches and put in SLP clutch kit. Fine tuned weights and Runs good for first good run till drive train gets hot, then limits my rpms to 7900 uphill, downhill, flats. But pulls 8400 till everything gets hot.. I’m stumped!! Any suggestions?
Both are about the same distance from where I live. Which would you reccommend? For my preference I’d much rather be on a senic trail with hill climbs than a trail that requires a mud suit and a wench to get through. Thanks in advance for your insight!
I have been looking to buy another Polaris for a while now. I already have a 2006 500×2 and a 2010 500ho that we use at our ranch in East Texas, but it seems that every time I turn around someone (wife, dad, stepmother, friend etc) is gone somewhere on them. So I want one that they do not take off on… well I really cannot tell my wife not to, but you get what I mean. 🙂
Anyway, I found this 2013 850 LE touring with 95 hours and about 600 miles on it. The guy just moved from Colorado hence the snow blade which I will not need in East Texas, but it looks pretty clean. He just does not use it any more as he has no place to ride unless he goes somewhere. He said everything works and it is as clean as it looks. I can have it for $7,500 which I think sounds good, what do you guys think?
