Got my Ricks Voltage Regulator yesterday. Looks nice and installed very easy. I will note it is around 1 inch narrower on the bolt holes. You will have to drill 1 new hole. I moved mine up and out of the way so I had to drill 2 anyway.
My buddy’s got an 09 rancher 420 fm with 30" silverbacks and big gun exhaust that he bought used and its got a much snappier throttle response as compared to mine, meaning it takes very little throttle and it feels like the rearend wants to outrun the rest of the fourwheeler lol As far as we know, the pipe is the only performance mod it has (haven’t been in the engine to check for big bore and no fuel tuner either)
Mine is a 2013 420 fm with 28" silverbacks with a gear reduction but his had and still has a much snappier throttle as compared to mine before or after the gear reduction – heck even when I had smalled 26" or the stock tires as well.
He rarely has trouble turning those 30s in the mud as well, so what gives? Lol How come his seems so ready to run with barely touching the throttle? Does an exhaust really do that much power wise? At first I thought maybe a clutch kit was behind it but it actually seems quite the opposite when I think of how little throttle it takes to get his moving compared to mine where as I can heard and feel the slight delay/stall while rpms increase before the clutch grabs
