Popping Sound on Front Axle/Wheel

I appreciate the add to the forum. I have gleaned countless information before ever joining. I am far from a mechanic, but this site has gotten me through several minor repairs and maintenance items.

I recently purchased a 2001 Honda Rubicon (Full-time 4×4). After a weekend ride in the mountains, I returned and noticed a popping/grinding sound in the front. I have isolated it to the front right somewhere between lower axle (outside end) and wheel. Putting it in neutral and rolling straight back and forth can produce the sound as well.

How should I begin to assess the cause further? I was assuming it was the CV joint and about to order/replace, but I thought I would get some advise before spending money.

Thanks!

2015 Sportsman steering issues

I brought my 2015 sportsman 850 home 2 weeks ago. Going through all the normal break in procedures, with an occasional open throttle and wheelie here and there. I noticed that the handle bars had some play in them and eventually when I would turn side to side I would get an awful knocking feeling and it would make a terrible grinding noise. Took it back to the dealer to replace the bearing at the bottom of the steering shaft. Hopefully this isn’t a trend with the new bikes. Anyone else having this issue?

is a 550 grizzly powerful enough for 2 riders?

Hey guys, I’m looking again and I found a 2010 550 efi w/ 80 hrs for about $5k. First off is that a good price?

Secondly, is it powerful enough for 2 riders? I weigh about 190 my gf weighs about 105. We’ve rode 2-up on a honda rancher 420 before and it was perfectly fine. I’m assuming this would be too?

Thanks!

Online Polaris Feedback

I received a card in the mail last week about doing an in depth feedback survey about my Sportsman 570 EPS. I honestly filled it out, telling them all the things that are great about the 570, and also told them about the concerns I have about some of the issues people are having and about Polaris standing behind the product they sell. My biggest concern I told them was the ridiculous 6 month warranty that comes with a $7,800.00 machine. There should be an automatic 2 year warranty (minimum). Well, at least I get a Polaris backpack out of this deal.

2002 Honda Foreman 450

Hello I am new to the forms. I have a 450 foreman es that will not rev up, it acts like it is hitting a rev limiter. I have put a new carburetor, new air, made sure the exhaust isn’t clogged, put fresh gas in it, and reset the valves. But it will not rev up, what could be my problem?

87 trx250x rear sprocket?

I just bought this four wheeler the other day and noticed the rear drive sprocket was way past the point of no return so I went to my local Powersports order a new stock sprocket but when I got home the bolt pattern was off by about an inch I measured the old sprocket it is a four lug in the distance between the two is four and a half inches or a hundred and fourteen point three millimeters.now I have gone to 4 different Powersports ATV motorcycle shops and nobody can tell me where to get the rear sprocket from and I’ve done hours of searching online and no where can I find a 4×4.5 bolt pattern 38 tooth rear sprocket. My question is does anyone have a stock 4×4.5 bolt Patten sprocket? If so what do you have? Or does anyone have any ideas on where to get one. Again, rear drive sprocket, 38 teeth, 4 bolts, 4 1/2"(4.5") diameter between holes of opposing sides from center to center.
