keeping the paint rock chip free…..

anyone have any tips or ideas about keeping the control arms & bumpers looking new ? i have a titanium mat metallic & am getting quite a few rock chips on the front control arms & front bumper(orange)…just wondering if anyone has done anything to theirs along the lines of matching up a special super tough , chip resistant paint & coating to keep the "new" look to the paint ?

Rider Information Center

I’m trying very hard to under the Rider Information Center the best I can. I’m wondering if anyone can tell me how many hours before I need my new ATV serviced and I’m sort of confused where to look.

I’ve enclosed a picture, but in case it didn’t come out, I see a wrench and above that I see the numbers 49.0. A little history is tho, I purchased this ATV yesterday (Friday), and this was taken today (Saturday). Does this mean so far I have gone 49.0 hours?

Also what is the best way (besides the book way (not much detail) in breaking in the ATV?

Thanks.

New to this site and can am atvs….couple questions?!?!?

Just got a 2014 xmr 650 from an older gentlemen who only put 17 hours on it. Took it out today and was pretty impressed. Only complaint would probably be the tires. Wondering if anyone has taken off the mudzillas and replaced them with a lighter tire and gained any power? Out of the hole the quad seems very sluggish but once it’s moving it feels great, I would think this would be caused by trying to turn such a heavy tire. Buddy just got some swamp lites and I really liked them and how they preformed in comparison to mine. I wasn’t looking to do a clutch kit, just hoping a lighter set of tires will get my take off a little better. Next question is what should I be doing/checking for now that i have roughly 25 hours/300 miles?

Found a screwy problem with trailer today.

Was doing some cleaning and d-winterizing on the toy hauler today (home made Cargo conversion) and everything was fine until I was getting ready to back it into the shop and for some reason I turned the running lights on and the brakes on the trailer locked up. I have had this trailer since last August and bought it new, in fact I ordered it custom built. I haven’t messed with any wiring for lights or brakes during the conversion. I have had it on one trip to Lake Murray for a ride and took it to my mothers home and used it to haul some stuff. One thing I haven’t done was drive with the lights on as I have driven with it during daylight hours only. Tonight after checking the truck wiring and the connector on the trailer what I did find was that I can disconnect the brakes out of the circuit (Blue Wire) and the brake controller shows "no connection" and as I start to roll forward I turn on the running lights, the brakes engage.:rollfinger: Tomorrow I’ll crawl under it and see whats afoul. It will be an easy fix. My wife says to take it back to the place I bought from, I don’t want to go down that path. :rm_thumbdown:

crankcase baffle, does “ex” have it and “w” not?

98-91 300 fourtrax trx 2×4: Clymer shows a crankcase baffle installed for this engine with no exception noted for model differences. Neither of the two engines I’m combining to make a good one seem to have ever had one regardless of bolt hole and mating surface to accept one. Parts diagrams show it available to order for sport "ex" but not for utility "w". What say y’all gurus?
