Dum Question About Battery

I keep hearing about charging the battery with an outside device. My question is, doesn’t the ATV charge it’s own battery like a car does? I sometimes (for hours on end) love to listen to my music (IHeartRadio) from my phone. So I plug my phone into my ATV and listen. MMMMMM can I or can I not do this anymore?

Thanks

Put my 1994 Polaris 400L in storage in 2007 as I didn’t really have a use for it at the time and all the starters had stopped working.
I decided to put a new electric starter on it ($7.00 more for the whole starter than the dealer wanted for just the brushes.) and get it running.
I was surprised once I got the new starter on and added a quart of gas in the tank it started right up. I was sure I would have to do carb work on it. The problem I had was the PTV was stuck and would not close up on the belt. Had to about take the whole rear fender set up off to get the PVT cover off, then needed a bolt 3/4" x 8" 16 threads per inch for the whole 8" of the bolt to pull the clutch off. Then 3 C clamps to get the shivs to move to the closed position so I could shine up the shaft.
Got it to moving smoothly and reinstalled it.
I used it to roll the lawn to start off, second thing I did was hook to the spring tooth harrow and loosen some ground I am going to dig up and use in some new raised garden beds this spring once I find the right spot with full all day sun also smooth out the ruts in the driveway. Got to make use of the 4 wheel drive doing that going up a steep hill.
Next I went out to the front yard and hooked on the deer blind and again used AWD to pull the deer blind into the pine trees out of the way of mowing this summer.

I’m happy to have it going again.

I had to buy a bolt 3/4" x 8" 16 TPI (make sure it its thread the full 8" to pull the clutch. Cost less than $5.00 a clutch pulling tool cost over $20.00 plus shipping.

After the clutch was fixed and a quickie bath to remove the storage dust.

hooked to the 2 section spring tooth drag.

Skidded the deer blind from the front yard to the pines so it isn’t in the way of lawn mowing.

A load of wood to replace the stuff I burnt last week I had figured would last till fall. Why do you Canadians insist on sharing your clippers expresses and vortexes when it is cold enough all ready.

Since the canoe is in the picture I have to share a mid February picture taken a day when the wind was howling and it was 30 below zero wind chill. that deer layed there for over 6 hours after I walked the dog in the morning.

Hopefully it is fixed now

Well the third front Differential, in the video was the first then they put a new one in and it was fine but then they said it happened from the front shaft being out of balance and mine was by allot, so they put a new shaft in, and 600 miles it never did it then one day, spinning in 2 WD it went bang, front wheels where snapping in in 2WD, so call Dealer, they say new heavy duty front Differential, so he calls last week and says its in took it down on Tuesday and picked it up on Thursday, so we ill give her a whirl,
Thanks Polaris for fixing it and coming out with a new and improved version and between the 4 times at the dealer, not one visit was more then 3 days great Dealer to work with, when it comes to problems, the dealer is everything, thanks Vetters sales and service, Kasota Mn.

Minibikes ??

My Dad brought this home new in 1970… I just got it going and I’m kicking myself in the arse for not doing it years ago…dammit…

Anywayz…it’s running GREAT now and I’m happier than a pig~in~shat…lol…

Anyone else have an old minibike or small two wheeler ???

Old reliable

I have an 99 recon that had set up all winter. I had cranked it several times over the last 5 months but not ridden it as it’s mostly used for work. Today I needed to spray fence lines so I filled the sprayer, aired up the tires that had leaked down, cranked her up and off I went. That is why I buy and recommend Hondas.

Thinking about going to a Polaris from Kawie

Well like it says I’m pondering trading in my 2014 Brute Force for a Sportsman Touring. Basically I want a touring for my wife so she can go with me on some rides. She doesn’t want her own machine at all so this is kind of where I’m at. I love my Brute Force with its instant power and and sporty like handling, but I know Polaris rides better. she nor I are into sxs so this is the best option I think, plus a touring being longer should ride good. Bad part is losing the BruteForce fun factor. So it’s going to be a 570 or 850 if I do it. I have done some shopping and I see for 2015 Polaris has a new design for the second seat and different angle on the handgrips. Also the shock under the passenger seat is no longer there. The 570 is more of a basic design, but still looks comfy. I won’t lie I’m struggling with a bit, kinda like trading in a fun car for a mini van lol. What do you guys think, save money on a 570 then add a QSC kit for more pep or just go 850 from the start. I like the looks of both rigs.
