We just got back from the U.P. of Michigan. Normally we rent a rustic cabin in the Porcupine Mountains State Park and take day hikes from there.
We never knew that you could take ATVs on the snowmobile trails outside of the park. So this year we brought four with us.
1st ride we did 95 miles. the 1st 40 were pretty flat, fast trails, and a little boring except for a huge waterfall we came across. Then crap happened. We were on a paved road section leading to Mass City when my buddy’s quad belched out this huge cloud of smoke and had a small fire! His oil line blew and ended his ride. So we hooked him up to my tow strap and pulled him to Mass so we could get gas.
Of course, once we left Mass City, the trails became fun, rocky, and muddy. I towed him with the 550 for 45 miles through some pretty decent trails. On one rocky climb, we came up on a fallen tree that was rotten. Thank goodness it was rotten because it was about as big around as my 26" tires. We tried to winch it, but it was too heavy, so we pulled it loose instead. Lucky for us that it was broken in two places.
We made it back and repaired the oil line for the next day and guess what? Something broke on the same quad in the rear drive line. We only did 20 miles that day and gave up on riding for the rest of the trip. We hiked instead, which was pretty pleasant. More fun than being at work!
Hey everyone, I picked up a 2017 650xmr this weekend (had a 16′ a month ago…..it got wrote off……)
There are indeed a few differences between the two years.
The trailing arms are painted red.
There are new plastic REAR CV boot protectors.
Gone is the big xmr ‘X’ on the side, a different sticker now.
They seem to have the copper looking can am brake pads (hopefully the better ones)
And the big difference, was the new DESS key. like a sea doo I’m told, not an actual key. Not sure if I like it as it can just pop off and did not come with a lanyard.
After a good Saturday ride I see the chain on my 700xx needs some lube, so I ride into my shed to apply some lube. Instead of lifting quad with my jack and applying the lube, I decided to just brush lube onto chain while rolling back, so now I’m out the door and onto my shed ramp stopping the quad with my left foot on the rear left tire. Note to self (Not a good idea). As soon as the front tires rolled onto the ramp you guessed it Gravity took over and the rear tire rolled over my left foot. Service manual list the weight at 515 lb., three of my sausage looking toes strongly disagrees with that weight. Note to self (take time to use the jack).

Hi Guys.
I am English, living in Spain full time, and I quite like the look of a Spyder as recreational transport around the Costa Blanca area and beyond.
There is a local dealer who has a very limited stock, I am looking to buy second hand.
There seem to be a couple of dealers in the UK, that may be able to help but the Spyders are all UK registered. I would like to be fully legal in Spain, which would mean converting headlights, before getting a Spanish registration.
Has anyone here re-registered a UK Spyder in Spain or EU?
I did buy a LHD Spanish registered car from the UK and drove it down to Spain, I think if I would prefer to have the Spyder transported professionally. Are their any recommended transport companies that can cope with a trike because those that I have spoken to, do not have the central deck.

My six month warranty is coming to a end and got warranty extension brochure in mail. It’s pricey.Did a lot of you buy it and have a lot of you had to use it?Thinking not going to buy it.
i was wondering if anyone out there has had to replace a throttle arm spring and would like to know if there is a knack to it.i have fiddled with this thing a couple of days and cannot get it to tension up on the throttle handle.going buggy on this thing. does it have to be tight going around the little bushing once you get it hook to the arm or do you just put it down in ,line up the slot and tighten the lock nut up and then pull the end a little so it seats against the side.thanks for any help on this matter.
Hello everyone. New member first post. So thanks in advance. Just bought an 04 400ex. It had a pretty bad tick in it before I got it so the guy I bought it from did the valve lash on it. It made a big difference but still has a tick. Also the day I looked and rode it, it was not smoking. A couple days after I buy it I notice white smoke under load. And black oil in end of exhaust pipe. This is my first machine so it’s all new to me. Any help would be appreciated.
