Im soon getting myself a "new" grizzly 700FI 2007 model.
I need new tires to stock rim. I have found some ITP Mudlite XL in 26×10-12 and 26×12-12 barely used.
Can anyone recommend these tires? And about size, there will be no problem thinkin about clearance ect? The Grizz 700 will runs these fine without any mod needed?
I’m new to the forum and don’t even own an ATV yet, but have kind of decided on an Outlander for my first and maybe last purchase.
I live in western Montana and my plans for the toy…er, I mean, utility vehicle…are driveway plowing and summertime trail riding, nothing technical or extreme. My body is not up for those things.
I’ve read a lot of comparison articles between brands and Can-Am seems the most reliable, plus they look fantastic.
There’s certainly bound to be a lot of knowledgeable people here and I’m looking forward to talking with you and getting better informed.
My stock front springs have steadily gotten weak anlong with the rears. So much with max preload it still bottomed out very easily and busted the fr shock. Seen these Elka stage 2 shocks and got em for $650. They are 2 yrs old and have 206 miles on them. Good deal? I was about to buy the $500 fox shocks from brp and new springs but figured this was a better buy.
These came off a 2015 1k outlander xmr . I dont know much about shocks. But these have 2 springs on each shock. Why? How do I go about adjusting these for my 2015 800 xmr short chassis with 2" lift?
How’s it going guys. Looking to purchase some new tires for my 2016 rancher for the spring. I am trying to choose between zillas, bear claw htr, and mudlite xtr. I am going to up to 26/9/12 for the front and 26/11/12 for the rears. Whats everyones experience with these tires. I live in New Hampshire so there is all types of terrain. I can go from hard pack and rocks to deep mud holes and sand all in one ride. So looking for a tire that will be the most versatile for any type of terrain.
The stock battery is not very good, I know that Polaris offers a heavy duty battery but i am thinking there are probably some heavy duty aftermarket batteries that are as good or better for less money. Anyone have any recommendations?
Hey everyone! So I just rebuilt the top end on my 05 400ex. I bored it to a 416, ported the head, new valve seals and a new cam. Got it all back together and fired it up and was running amazing across the yard for about 3 minutes and then it just started blowing smoke like crazy out of the exhaust. Any ideas what the problem could be here? I’m stumped because I checked everything when I had it torn down and it all looked perfect and all went back together perfect. Thanks in advance for any help!
I recently installed the SuperATV disc brake conversion kit on my 300, which I am very satisfied with. But, the brakes were still spongy, like they were with the drum brakes. I knew that the disc brakes were working well, so the only thing it could be would be old (18 years old) hoses that were swelling under pressure. So, I embarked on finding a set of braided hoses.
I had contacted Galfer, but I had a hard time with the website, and when I did get to the order page, I had to print it, fill it out, and either fax or scan it. I’m sort of impatient, so I kept looking. I found a Galfer set on ebay, for the 450R. No one makes a ready-made set for the 300, but the more I studied the set for the 450, the more I was convinced that it could work. I ordered a set-
They shipped and arrived fast, and I installed them this morning. one side hose is a couple of inches longer than the other, but other than that, the set worked perfect. I did bend the fittings at the calipers to keep the lines away from the tires, but that was the only alteration. Everything else worked out well, and when braking, the handle is firm, and the discs grabbed better.
One observation. If I had realized that the brake hoses were swelling, I would have most likely replaced them first, to see if the drums would then work like they did when the atv was new. Between buying the disc conversion kit, new rims and tires, and the hose set, I’ve spent close to $900. I don’t regret it, but if money is tight, I would recommend addressing the hoses before the drum brakes.
Hey everyone, I’m new here, I got a ’94 300 for a really good deal, and well, it needs some work. I’m thinking I might just go for performance while I restore it. Does any company make a better suspension or aftermarket pipe that fits? Do Xpress or Xplorer pipes and suspension fit? The stock pipe I have is blown out and rotted. I also want a really nice suspension for the trails I ride. Any help is appreciated. 🙂
