Honda 400ex Clutch slipping

Back again, my center clutch, part number 22121-HN1-000, one of the studs where the bolt screws into broke so theres only 4 bolts holding it on. would this casue it to slip, also i think one is somewhat stripped so its not very tight. Its also hard to find neutral when the machine is running.

No display, glowing indicator lights

2004 450ES, notices several weeks ago that the 4 indicator light across the top of panel glowed when machine key is on or running. could shift to reverse or neutral and light would get bright as they should. Later went to use it, would not start, weak battery. Purchased new battery from local Honda dealer, installed, lights still glow, now none of the display visible, mph, gear range, clock, etc. Machine started and ran fine. Now a week later, new battery dead, drained. Any ideas? Could voltage regulator mal-function cause this?

Maple Sugaring

Just wondering if anyone else does maple sugaring? I have been doing it for the past five years with about 25 taps but this year I went to 57 taps and hopefully will do more in the future. I have gotten about 170 gallons of sap total so far and have boiled 2 gallons of syrup. This year has been a really good one compared to others despite the awful winter we had. I also help with a buddies sugar bush with 350-400 taps. We’ve gotten about 50 gal of syrup so far and still have 500 gal of sap to boil.

2008 Polaris Outlaw 50 not turning over

Just bought a used Outlaw 50 and it ran great and started great for first couple weeks. Was riding it and died. Tried to start it by electric start (kick starter lever is missing) and it would turn over but not start. Tried 20 times or so for a couple seconds each time. Then tried to hit the starter button again and nothing happens. The battery is good as the horn still works when pushed.

Checked main fuse by battery and it is good.

Any suggestions? I ordered a new starter for $25 bucks figured it was worth it and a good starting point.

Also if I order the kick starter lever 0453840 is there a bolt I need to insert into the kickstarter hole?

Thanks!

Sportsman says R no matter what gear its in

Hi guys new to the forum with a new to me 2003 Sportsman 600. First ATV after having motorcycles for years so trying to catch up on the learning curve.

First problem is over the weekend the gear indicated on the display started acting funny it wasn’t showing the right gear but performance wasn’t affected.
Come Monday the display was only showing R for reverse, and then the atv wouldn’t rev regularly. It was running cyclically, like it was being governed. I called a buddy who said it was acting like it was stuck in reverse, and I said well shoot it is displaying R so that makes sense. I held down the yellow button and sure as heck that got it to rev and drive normally.

It’s stuck in R no matter what gear I change to with the lever.

Anyone have any idea where I can start troubleshooting this?

Do these things have PDF manuals anywhere?

Thanks guys

I found this thread trying to find solutions but I don’t think I want to cut the purple wire. Sportsman Thinks It's Stuck In Reverse – Troubleshooting And Modifications – The ATV Zone

Do I really need reverse?

I’m about to buy my 1st ATV. I want a Honda 400 ex or even a new 400x. I know they make 2004 ex with reverse. I found a 04 on CL for 2000 in Great condition. The guy says no reverse. Now I’m 40 and want to get one so me and family can start having fun in trails. How often does that reverse gear help. I’m confused it’s a great quad but I do kinda want reverse. Please help. Thanks!!!?
