When to use Low Vs. High transmission gears?
I thought I read here that it is best to use Low gear unless going faster than 40 mph because Low gear is easier on the clutch and belt. Based on my limited experience, I would think High is best as long as one is cruising at 15 mph or faster and not climbing. This shouldn’t be any harder on the clutch or belts and puts far fewer revs on the engine. I’d rather wear out the belt and clutch than the engine valves, rings, and bearings etc. Am I missing something?
There are exceptions. Low gear is best for sportier driving like power slides and faster acceleration. I would think Low would be best anytime its in 4wd.
Unfortunately the Operators Guide for my 2010 Renegade 500 doesn’t say anything about this.
Any comments or rebuttals?

2016 Grizzly stock tires
Just picked up my new Grizzly today! I had the dealer install new 27" ITP Mud-Lites before I took delivery, so I have a brand new set of the stock 26" Maxxis tires. The dealer said I could probably sell them on Craigslist for $350-400. I was hoping that some of you that have sold your stock tires could tell me how much they are actually worth.
Thanks,
Craig
buying online, paranoid
i need to get parts online, steering, ball joints, etc. first you got to let in google, then bing, then everybody else. the more you let in, the more they come. they take up bandwidth[my money], and steal/sell info[mine/others]. what is a good site? i just want to get in, get business done and get out. oem parts are a plus, enough with china.
Camp Gruber/Scipio Oklahoma
Looking into hitting one of these places in the next couple of weeks, just wondering if anyone has any experience with these places and their thoughts on them. I usually just ride the Cimmaron river and Crossbar Ranch in oklahoma but im looking for some good recommendations on a change of pace!
Back in Action
Well for the SECOND time i punctured a rear tire on the 2016 700se, 320 miles… Not a huge fan of these stock maxxis tires. Although I might just have bad luck.. First time i ran over a hay rake spike off a tractor, and that was easily patchable (not so much the tires fault). But just recently i was riding and clipped a rock sticking out into the trail and as soon as i hit it i got a gut wrenching feeling it cut the tire and sure enough i look down and its almost flat already. Not patchable this time, big old gash in the sidewall. So thanks to CarbonGrizzly i got a set of used tires that i just got mounted today! So the grizz is back in action!! It has been a long two weeks even though i havent even had the chance to ride it, it still pissed me off she was out of order! So as soon as i got the tire back i mounted it up and gave her a much needed wash AND WAX! Probbably should have taken some better pictures.. And while i was at it i found a Busch trophy can ; )
