Well I was searching craigslist like I do everyday and came across a 2002 rancher es 4×2. Never owned a 4×2 or even a Honda at that…. but for the price ($700) and running, I had to grab it. So right now she is on a jack stand with all oil changed and brakes cleaned. WOW, Honda breaks are crazy that’s for sure. Can’t just do disc like popo and can am? lol
Anyhow, other than all of that she runs strong and shifts through all the gears and not smoking. Hard to start, but will be cleaning the carb this weekend.
So wondering if there is anything I need to know about this wheeler. Thanks for the imput ya’ll. Oh ya, I will get some pics up soon, for a 2002 its in great shape
First, a shout out to Scott and his Family from Charlotte, NC, whom I met this past weekend at Carolina Adventure World. Scott was enjoying his new 570’s, Red and Orange.
Question: When did they delete the Radiator Side Covers? I think that’s an important feature to have. I wonder if you can buy them for the 2014 models and install them on the newer bikes?
Maybe that was an idea to cut down on the heat out the right side, warming up your leg?
Given a choice, I’d rather protect the Radiator from sticks and etc.
Hey guys, this past weekend I was cleaning my quad and I noticed a bulge (about 1.5" diameter) in the sidewall of one of the rear tires. These are the stock tires on my ’15 Touring 1000. I’ve never been the type to buy aftermarket rims / tires unless it’s necessary (and now it is), so I don’t really know what’s what with regard to tire sizes / manufacturers / capability etc.
From my research, I’m leaning heavily toward a set of radial tires, and I want to go at least a size up from stock because I had some serious clearance issues on Drummond Island over memorial weekend (the kind of issues that required a crow bar to "adjust" clearance between the engine and the skid plate). It looks like a lot of people like the Bighorns, Bighorn 2.0’s, and the Bear Claws. From what I can tell, the Bear Claws only come in the 26" diameter for my 14" wheels, so those are out. I’m looking at the 29" Bighorn’s, and the 28" Bighorn 2.0’s. I don’t want to lift, or put a new clutch in the machine, but I’d like to gain as much ground clearance as possible since I have to get new tires anyway.
Anyone have any suggestions? 28" vs 29" pro’s & con’s?
I bought a snorkel kit last year for my old ’12 gade, now have a ’15. The exhaust boot is round on the ’12, but oval on the ’15. I looked in part shark and couldnt it find or wasn’t listed, is it available or need something else??
I have a 2011 Honda Rancher ES with power steering. I parked it the other day and everything was fine. I went to turn the key over and the power steering light is on and the neutral light blinks with the gear indicator at a steady pace to the clicks. Pushing the electronic shiftier does nothing and pushing the starter it doesn’t turn over or make any noise. The battery is good. I can’t retrieve codes because the gear indicator seems to be stuck. All I am getting is clicking. Tried rocking it back in forth to get into a gear, but the neutral light is on. I am a little lost of what to do to figure the problem out. Has anyone else experienced this? I uploaded the video on you tube and here is a link to it https://youtu.be/M_cHMWxdXz8. I don’t know if you can hear the clicking in it but it is too the same rhythm as the gear indicator. Any help would be appreciated. Video https://youtu.be/M_cHMWxdXz8
