Rolled my Sportsman – Bent frame?
When unloading my 2014 Sportsman 570 one of the ramps slipped off and I rolled the quad, it flipped once and landed back on the wheels, this was on a paved driveway.
I thought all that was damaged was cosmetics. I replaced all the plastics, speedo, everything that looked damaged. I’m up to $1500 in parts now.
Now that I have everything back together, the last part was putting together the headlamp / speedo assembly. I realized once this was back together there may be frame damage, as I can not rotate the wheels all the way left or right – the headlight housing is hitting the gas tank, and when turning one direction it actually turns the key and cuts the ignition off.
Attached are pics. It’s hard to show in the pics, but the main bar the handlebar connect too is pushed back towards the tank, which I believe should be more in the center of the opening.
I don’t understand how one roll can cause so much damage to an ATV, I guess the Polaris build quality is just not that good. Either way, I’m wondering if this has happened to anyone else and they can provide some guidance. I am not sure what needs to be replaced, if its the bar or the part on the bottom the bar connects too, or the frame itself. I am not sure the names of parts either.
I was considering trying to bang it back with a sledge hammer, maybe heating up but I don’t know where the bend is to even apply heat too.
Any ideas are greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

2001 air issue
I purchased two 2001 Trail Boss from a guy that had them in storage for about 3 years. He kept them in good shape, fogging them and turning them over. My problem is one of them will not take throttle, it starts to bog out at about half throttle. The only difference between them is one is a post 12/11/00 and the other is pre 12/11/00. The only thing that sticks out to me is the air box style. The post ATV has a smaller K&N filter, and air intake . I have swapped everything between the two and it seems to come down to the air box. If I put the pre12/11/00 air box on either one it runs fine. If I put the post on it, I need to take the cover off for the thing to run well. I am at a loss. Not ready to drop a hundred bucks on a pre 12/11/00 air box and filter if I can help it.
Any help at all would be appreciated.
Thanks
Mike
2007 Sportsman 500 EFI starting problem
My 2007 Sportsman 500 EFI has developed a starting problem. Began as a failure to spin the starter with an old battery. Can hear the fuel pump charge, then the click of the starter solenoid when the key is turned more. Would start a couple of times then not. Let it sit for a day or two and the same would be true.
Did start with the recoil starter.
Replaced the battery which tested bad with a lithium ion unit and it started immediately. Now is doing that again. Battery voltage was 13.24. Is climbing very slowly with the correct battery tender.
What should the charging voltage be?
Is it likely that the starter assembly is the culprit?
Thanks,
Mike
1996 Polaris 500 Sportsman Carb Issues
1. How do you remove the throttle cables on the carb? Everything else is off and need to get these cables off.
2. Where is the plastic seal that is causing the overflow gas leak? I have no rubber seal when I pulled the cover off. Only a set screw that is cranked all the way in.
3. Is this normal – took pictures of how the carb looks now. Should the covers not be closed?
Anything to help as the leaking is a daily issue.
