Buggy with Trailblazer engine

Good day

New to the forum and I think this is the best place to get some help.

I know nothing of Polaris, as these are not abundant in South Africa.

Got this yesterday, and has a Trailblazer engine in, and utilizes the suspension as well. The quad frame was welded on the buggy frame as you will see in the pics.

Will post a pic and short questions and comments above each pic.

Picking it up. They pull started it ran for a bit then died. Was overflowing but already sorted that out and cleaned jets.

I do have the cover. The belt currently installed is not correct and will have to be replaced. What size belt do I need to get?

How is this supposed to be wired?

This fuel line that tied off, where does this go?

When I got it, these two were connected without a t piece. Now they are connected with the t piece installed and the black tube is open to allow dripping. The fuel mix screw is 2 and half turns out.

This is the oil pump right? I see it is not connected, so will have to pre mix. Is it OK to leave it on as is, not connected to anything / open?

This is on the right side of the engine / tranny. I assume this is a plug to show gear position / indicator? Correct?

The guy said the starter has some issue but he does not seem to know much himself. Maybe not connected properly. I see no starter relay. How should this be connected?

What the heck is this? Not connected to anything.

The tank has two outlets, the one is not connected / open. Where should it go?

About to pull trigger – first quad

I posted this in the new member section, but thought I would post it here too. Thanks!

Hello there, been reading this forum for a while as I researched buying a quad for the first time. Total newb to 4 wheelers. Lots of good information here.

So, locally I’ve found a 2012 Sportsman 500 HO with 290 miles. It has a winch and a snow plow (I need that in N Dakota). It’s in excellent shape. It’s a carb model. The guy is asking $4500.

Also found a brand new 2015 Sportsman 570 EFI. It has 1 mile on it and the couple that is selling it won it in a raffle and have no use for it. No winch or plow. They are asking $5300.

Third bike is a 2006 Sportsman 500 EFI. It has 490 miles on it and also comes with a winch and plow. Also looks to be in really good shape. Guy said he mainly just used it for plowing snow. Always been stored in garage. They’re asking $4200 for this one.

In your opinions, which one would you choose? I just can’t decide. I’ve tried gathering as much info on these quads as I can. I’m going to buy one for me and my wife. It won’t get trail ridden very often. Gonna use it mainly for working around our place. Getting to the fields, plowing snow in the winter, and just having fun, etc.

Any advice would be helpful.

Hey Bros

New to the forum. I signed up cause I’m in the process of researching Can Ams. Specifically the Outlander/Renegade 1000 XMR. Currently I own a Brute Force 750i and I have no plans on getting rid of it. Love that machine.

But I love the looks and performance of the Can Ams so I gotta get me one. Thanks for having me, looking forward to picking ya’lls brain some.
