I have a 2002 sportsman 400 and I have all the rear end mount bolts loose but I cannot seem to get the shaft loose of the rear end to finish pulling the rear end any tips?
Ok so I bought a seal from the dealer that is suppose to be the seal for where the through shaft comes out of the motor on the front. They also sold me a wear ring and said I probably needed to replace it. Well the new seal has a bigger i.d. Which the wear ring seals against nicely and there was no wear ring on the through shaft from the factory and the seal had a smaller I.d. So my question is did they sell me the wrong stuff or is this a upgrade/modification
Hello everyone,
Ive been fixing up this 1995 Scrambler 400 4×4. The rear brake caliper beed screw was broke off in the caliper. After hours of try to extract it the extractor broke off. Anyway, I see one new on Ebay for $300 but cant see spending that much on this. None of the polaris parts suppliers seem to have it online. This is what I see for it from the suppliers.
CALIPER,R.BRAKE,MACH. this number 5131117 <– is marked out with this number 9990005 as a replacement which is a crank case number?
Anyway, I searched ebay and nothing specifically for this year. However, I did see a 1996 Trailboss rear caliber and ebay says it also fits the 1995 Scrambler. It looks the same but not sure if I want to chance it although it does match the 1996 Scrambler part number mine is a 1995 with a different part number.
Does anyone know if any of the other ATV’s use the same rear brake caliper as the 1995 Scrambler 400 4×4? It appears the 1995 Xplorer has the same rear caliper but I cant find any of those either. Does anyone know if the older trailboss rear calipers are the same?
Hello everyone,
Its nice to be here on the Polaris ATV Forum.
I live in Zebulon, NC outside Raleigh.
I bought my first two ATVs in 2001. They were the 2001 Sportsman 500 and the Xplorer 400 4×4. I wish I had never sold them. I recently bought two more Polaris ATV’s. A 2015 Sportsman 570 and an older 1995 Polaris Scrambler 400 4×4.
The 570 is running great. Its ride very stable and strong.
The 1995 Scrambler 400 4×4 is still being rebuilt. I will post some questions about brakes in the appropriate form section about it.
I have a 2009 550 XP EFI Sportsman. Bought it brand new and had a great time on it. Only 250 miles. Rode it and parked for about a week. Went to ride and when turned key on nothing. Changed battery and nothing. Checked fuses and they are all good. Traced wiring and it all appears to be good. Any ideas out there? I could really use some advice at this point. My son stored it for me for the past 2 years in his garage after I moved here and I just got it back. Please help if you can. Thank you
